      It is almost like Bernie swapped parties several months beforehand, then spent large chunks of his time attacking the leadership of the DNC and the party itself on the campaign trail.

      Why in the world would there be an “us” vs “them” mentality?

      To be fair, Sanders has caucused with the Democrats for all of his time in Congress. It's not like he was fighting them this whole time. I don't think it was inappropriate for him to run as a Democrat, and it does sound as if at least some of his animosity towards DNC leadership was justified given some of the emails people have posted.

    Oh my lordy is this a goldmine. The DNC was working to protect Clinton from attacks and actively “infiltrating” the Sanders movement to discredit and dismantle it the whole time. To boot, they were working secretly to vet DeRey as a surrogate in order to get HRC’s claws into Black Lives Matter and likely nudge them farther to the mainstream (right). Let’s all say it in unison, “she’s trash, but at least she’s not a nazi” - she’s getting my vote not because she’s a principled or skilled politician, but because she’s not a fucking nazi. Congrats Hills, this is your legacy now.

      Well she engineered a scenario where you’re voting for her and you think she’s trash so she must be doing something right. She underestimated Obama. She won’t make a mistake like that again.

      Too bad everyone who hates Hillary. She’s smarter than you, she beat you. She’s not liberal enough for me but I’ll take her if it means the end conservatism as we know it. She will crush them, probably using more guests from Chelsea’s wedding.

      And she’ll be a great president too. She’ll be a long shot better than all her mouth breathing critics, Trump and Christie the greatest of them (by ego and mass respectively).

    The emails prove that at a minimum, members of the DNC (including DWS) were coordinating against Bernie and were in active discussions with the media on how to portray Bernie. I know this place is Hillary Country and it hates reddit, but seriously, check out this post summarizing several key emails (without comment, I might add):

      I don’t hate Reddit. Reddit just has a tendency to call me genetically inferior (I’m black). So I avoid it.

      I don’t really have an option this election as one is probably not going to help me much. And the other will actively make my life worse.

      I am going with the the one that at least has some potential not to make my life worse.

      Note Sanders understands that getting Hillary elected over Trump is in the country’s best interest.

      Of course!

      No one on Saint Bernie’s campaign ever sent an email suggesting a slimy attack angle against Clinton.

      There isn’t a single one in existence because the only people in Bernie’s inner circle are exactly as ideolgicaly pure and morally upstanding as he is. No one over there has any ruthless tendencies or experience in campaigning whatsoever which is why they would never do something like this.

      I have a degree in political communications and didn’t end up working on campaigns because, like you, I’m disgusted by them. But I’m not going to pretend like it’s possible to be above it and still win. It’s not.

    Wondering if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess. Specifically, DWS had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they’d either ignored or forgotten to something critical. She had to call Bernie after the data breach to make his staff to respond to our concerns. Even then they didn’t get back to us, which is why we had to shut off their access in order to get them to finally let us know exactly how they snooped around HFA’s data. Same was true with the standing committee appointments. They never got back to us with their names (HFA and even O’Malley got there’s in six weeks earlier) for the committees. So, again, the chair had to call Bernie personally for his staff to finally get us critical information. So, they gave us an awful list just a few days before we had to make the announcements. It’s not a DNC conspiracy, it’s because they never had their act together.

      Yeah, there’s a solid working theory going on right now that Donald’s taking direct cues from Putin. His businesses rely heavily on Russian oligarch money, his campaign manager and most of his top advisors have deep Putin ties, and the one and only thing he fought for in the platform was about not defending allies against Russian incursion. Would seem crazy, except it’s Donald, so it really doesn’t seem crazy at all.
