    Rich, serious question, as I have no point of reference: the acronyms used to reference the general community, while still allowing for diversity seem inconsistent. I see LGBT, LGBTQ, and even LGBTQIA+. At some point, isn’t there a concern that continuing to add more and more letters and characters to an acronym that is already generally understood by the public will actually start to make the whole reference a parody of itself? Many people now have a basic understanding that gender isn’t binary, and some understand that gender isn’t the same as orientation, and there are a few who understand that there are a whole other bunch of factors to consider. However, does it then become necessary to create an acronym that eventually looks like LGBTQIA+69ER)(n\!@#$%HVPD-*ouwZ without completely turning it into something that nobody will take seriously anymore?

    So Ivanka is talking about equal pay for women and benefits for working mothers, and Donald is saying he’ll protect the LGBTQ community. These are basically Obama platform positions, and his party’s platform is LITERALLY the opposite, and Mike Pence has spoken out against gay rights AND has said that working mothers stunt economic growth.

    So he’s just blatantly saying things that are opposed to his own party positions. Good stuff.

      He’s also said that women obtaining abortions should be punished. But if you think he’s going to be called out or suffer consequences for these inconsistencies, then you have more hope for the media and the electorate than I do. He’s going to point to these most recent statements and say, “see, I’m good for gay people and women.” And then if he wins, that shit all goes by the wayside because he’ll be dealing with a republican congress and republican courts and will be too out of his depth to do anything meaningful to support the “good side” of the contradictory things he’s said. He only gives a shit about occupying the office and winning this (and god forbid he does so) and the next election.

      “As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of the hateful foreign ideology—believe me!”

      He only saying he’d protect gays from foreign terrorists. The rest of that shit about bathrooms and not being able to marry and letting some pizza slinger turn them away? Yeah, all that shit stays. So yeah, nothing has been thrown out of that window.
