Peter had to get back to his hotel quickly. He had a lot of plastic sheeting to lay and those rent boys aren’t going to strangle themselves.

Apparently male escorts are making bank this week: http://nypost.com/2016/07/21/mal…

Though it’s the NYPost though, so...you know.

I’m liking Ivanka’s claim during her speech that to work for her father, all that matters is ability and effort. I guess that doesn’t count for black guys handling his money.

Peter Thiel is the classic example of someone who is undeniably extremely bright, but whose view of the world is so idiosyncratic and informed by their own eccentricities that it only holds together in the insular world of Peter Thiel, one-man political philosophy. I don’t think anything drives home the guy’s uber-theoretical, quasi-fantastical view of politics and society better than seeing him give an uncomfortable speech in support of Donald Trump.

If I didn’t know better, I’d be tempted to guess that part of Thiel’s apparent discomfort in speaking to the RNC audience was realizing in real-time how huge the gap is between his concept of an elitist, techno-libertarian future and the fact that he’s trying to gather momentum for his ideology by stumping for someone known for public statements like “I know all the best words” and “We’re going to bomb the shit out of ISIS”.

Granted, the truth is probably closer to Thiel just being socially awkward and uncomfortable with public speaking. He doesn’t seem like the kind of person who is susceptible to self-doubt. Either way, watching the guy try to fit the mold of a boilerplate RNC speaker seemed to mainly communicate just how personally isolated and incompatible with the world at large his whole worldview is.

He might be aware that security won't get between him and the crazy, gay-hating delegates in time if they decide to rush the stage. It'd be like that bible story where a lion falls into a den of Christians and gets the shit stomped out of him.

It’s the same reason people think he’s smart for espousing a “philosophy” of barely concealed, desperate self-interest; very rich people can afford to avoid being told that they’re ideas are bullshit and that their haircuts are stupid.

“When I was a kid, the great debate was about how to defeat the Soviet Union. And we won,” he recalled. “Now we are told that the great debate is about who gets to use which bathroom. This is a distraction from our real problems. Who cares?”

Republicans, Prickly Pete, ol’ pal. Republicans care a lot.

It’s this crap that truly impresses me about the Republican spin machine. A Republican governor introduced the blatantly discriminatory legislation in NC to fix a problem that didn’t exist and when left-oriented people pointed that out, somehow they were the people that were outraged and making a big deal out of it. And since the American Left is a directionless, rudderless mess that is constantly concerned with sounding mean, there was no pushback.

I shouldn’t be surprised by this kind of bullshit anymore, but. . . I still am. I can’t believe he’s complaining about the completely fabricated bathroom controversy while simultaneously ignoring that it was created by hysterical bigots in the Republican Party who had nothing better to do.

The only way the gays have arrived with this crowd, is they are running short of people to pray for.

So here we have yet another “fiscal republican” who for some unknown reason, in 2016, still thinks supporting the GOP is good for long term, or even short term business. And then purely out of greed and willful ignorance, is willing to go down the dark path of supporting, in essence, a hate group.

Good to officially know which side of history you stand on, Pete.

He doesn’t actually care about small government, though; he mostly cares about undemocratic government, and there’s never been a more antidemocratic candidate in this country’s history.

He should only know how many so called “evangelicals” want gays put to death.

But this is not as important as him getting a tax break.

“Across the country, wages are flat,” Thiel said, sounding like a politician. “Americans get paid less today than ten years ago. But healthcare and college tuition cost more every year. ”

And you and GOP are happy to make it worse or just the same.

    Moving on.
