    How dumb and self-hating can you be??? The party you “support” is running on a platform that, should all be implemented, would not allow you to marry, would not allow you to adopt should you choose to, would let businesses and bosses and whomever discriminate against you because of your identity, would look to reinstate conversion therapy so you definitely wouldn’t have to worry about that whole coming out as trans process. I mean—be “conservative” if you want.

    But don’t fucking support a party that literally doesn’t view you as a human being.

    Because of that, I feel like our best hope to get back to a Constitutional government with 18 enumerated powers is in the Republican Party.

    This isn’t difficult: she’s rich and she wants to be able to not pay a penny in taxes. Anytime these loons start in on constitutional government, that’s all it means: get rid of all social welfare programs so I don’t have to pay shit in taxes. This is why Peter Thiel is also for ‘constitutional government’ and was an early Cruz supporter, despite being gay. These people are fucking evil.

    Respect to Jenner’s memory of her father, but the idea that someone like him, who lived through the Great Depression, the New Deal, the American war effort in WWII and the postwar federal welfare programs designed to help (white) veterans, would today support basically turning the clock back 200 years on the US federal government seems...highly improbable.

    Don’t you know, that’s how Jenner stays in shape these days, not with running or golf, but with mental gymnastics.

    My brother is trans too, but because he lived the first 20+ years of his life as a woman he knows what it’s like to be a woman in a patriarchal society. He may appear to the world now as a white man, but he is all too aware of how male privilege operates. Caitlyn Jenner, on the other hand, lived for decades with the belief that she was a woman, but also equipped with the blinders of male privilege. Not to mention heteronormative privilege. I think she still has residual blinders on. It’s the most insidious thing about privilege, that we are blind to its existence and think our experience is the default.

      I was 13 when Bruce Jenner smashed the Olympic and World records for the men’s Decathalon at the Montreal Games in ‘76, and watched his thrilling win in the final event, the 1500 metres, with a final lap dash into legendary status.

      EVERYTHING she’s done since then has been mystifying, but NOTHING is as bizarre as her choosing to remain a fucking Republican.
