I agree 100% that the GOP are neanderthals when it comes to this issue, but the current POTUS opposed gay marriage in 2008 and the current Dem POTUS nominee opposed gay marriage as late as 2013.

That’s right. It’s important to acknowledge people whose views evolve over time just as it is important to acknowledge people whose views do not.

This is where I plead with my left-leaning brothers and sisters out there to not stay home on election day. I know you don’t care about me personally. But think about your LGBT friends and family. Their lives could be immeasurably worse for a long time under a GOP president, Congress and conservative leaning Supreme Court. Voting for Clinton is a way to (among other things) not backtrack or completely erase the progress we have made in the last 8 years (which is not to mention, of course, the fact that she would be better for virtually every other group of Americans as well). For the love of gay God, please.

Also you can watch a room full of Republicans cry and hold each other while singing “God Bless America” like they did on election night 2012.

      That’s what motivates me anyway.

But they will stay home or even worse, vote for Johnson or Stein, claiming there’s no difference between Trump & Clinton.

The morons didn’t learn from 2000! They learn nothing!

I am not gay...so maybe I am not in a position to be criticizing...but the Log Cabin Repubs have always struck me as confounding. They seem like the girl who thinks she can change the asshole guy by dating him and being a good example. Do the LCRs not understand what they are dealing with?

Because the GOP only has a position on one issue and therefore gays (who also have a position only on one issue) should judge them only on that.

Wake me up when the dems collectively take an economics class.

So since every child deserves a married mom and dad, they will be pushing to criminalize divorce right? Marriage should be between a man and a woman until death, just like the founding fathers intended. It’s right there in the secret, republican only section of the constitution.

Milo loves Trump because they’re both trolls, trolling the shit out of their own party. It doesn’t need to be explained how Trump has brought his own party down from the inside but maybe you guys don’t know that Milo spends his time on Breitbart talking about how much he loves big black dick. I can’t believe either of them are serious about anything that comes out of their stupid little mouths.

    http://risenews.net/2015/09/conser…

“Racist? Me? I’ve had more black dick in me than the entire Kardashian family,” Yiannopoulos wrote. “Yes, that’s on the record.”

    http://dailycaller.com/2016/04/22/is-…

However, Yiannopoulos, a native Briton, may cut an odd figurehead for any right-wing movement. He’s very open about his gay sexuality, even bragging at one point during his speech about how many black men have been “inside” him.

    http://fusion.net/story/220646/t…

In person, his friends will tell you, he is always “on,” whether he’s railing against the matriarchy, bragging about his own fabulousness or discussing his love of “black dick.”

He’s a piece of work, that one. You have to play a mental game of Twister to even understand any of his moral justifications. Try listening to one of his podcasts. I double dog dare you.

Two of my coworkers in the office a couple days ago were talking about how they are really warming up to Milo. I hate to bite my tongue for fear of yelling or vomiting. Warming up to WHAT??

These coworkers, it’s like...they’re generally, almost sort of nice people. And then they say something like “Milo Yiannopoulos seems like a good guy” and I feel infinitely better about never even attempting to become friends with any of those assholes in the first place. You have to be a special kind of dick to find that guy to be anything but a worthless piece of shit.

I’d never thought I’d ever paraphrase PJ O’Rourke, but the guy had it right when it comes to Trump insanity: “you can hate Hillary, and she’ll be wrong on a lot of issues, but at least she’s wrong for sane reasons.”

If I had to describe the two main political parties in two sentences it would be:

One party wants to change people and not behaviors.

One party wants to change behaviors and not people.

You figure out which is which.

Not really when you think about it. Conservative policy rejects a new social environment. Why change people’s behaviors (acceptance of gay marriage, for example) when you can just tell the gay people to stop being gay.

Change is inevitable. You either adapt to the change by updating your behavior or you reject the change and tell people to change themselves.

I think this type of thinking is at the root of why conservatives perceive social change as ‘hostility’ toward them. They reject the notion that, within their lifetime, they should behave differently.

Keep in mind that a big reason the anti-gay planks were added to the Republican platform in 1992 was Pat Buchanan. He ran a right wing primary against Bush I and was successful enough that he forced the party to make a hard right turn. 20+ years of the GOP pandering to the base has led them here.
