How many prominent Republican politicians have been absolutely destroyed/manhandled by Trump (and their own incompetence) this election season? Jeb, Rubio, Christie...it’s fucking funny, man.

He has singlehandedly wrecked the GOP. It’s going to take years before they’re taken seriously.

Christie is such a fucking idiot. He actually had a legitimate future in the GOP and could have preserved it if he’d just played the long game and sat the Great 2016 Dumpster Fire out. Instead he launched an embarassing failure of a primary campaign and then hitched his wagon to a racist lunatic who treats him like a servant, openly humiliates him in public and never even considered him for a cabinet position. Christie is fucking done. His career is over.

Did he really have a future, he always seemed like a laughable turd who got by on the fact that most people hadn’t seen him.

I look at this and I honestly believe the GOP is giving up on any long game whatsoever - they’re not winning over any minorities and they know it, so their only slim hope is to hang on to enough old whites with no educations to be able to gerrymander themselves a few more cycles. That’s the ONLY REASON I can think of why so many went all-in on this nonsense. Jeb is done. Christie is done. Cruz is done. Rubio and Kasich are going to be relegated to their backwater fiefdoms for the foreseeable future. It just doesn’t make sense.

Unless Christie once spoke to an old gypsy woman who foretold his death by massive coronary in 2020, so he knew this was his last chance.

I still don’t know why he chose to bet his entire “tough guy” reputation (legit or not) on being the simpering bottom bitch of an ornery orangutan who doesn’t even have much support from his own party.

It’s weird. If any Republican was going to come out hard against Trump and craft an alternate route to keep their political career alive, I would have bet good money on Christie.

He’s savvy enough to sink people with a few well-timed quips, he’s smart enough to know how to maintain his “tough guy” schtick by opposing Trump, and it would keep him relevant even after his campaign folded.

The only thing I’ve got is that Bridgegate is maybe worse than we all suspect for him and he knows he’s going down. Trump was maybe his immunity.

      Now he’s fucked.

From the Times, there appears to be video of the last minute appeal by Christie:

Truly the Bobby Bacala of the GOP organized crime syndicate, if not for a stunning resemblance then at least for his uselessness and disposability.

Honest question: Has there ever been a guy, other than the fictional and beloved Jimmy James of WYNX, with a first name that was also part of their last name that wasn’t a total asshole? Ala Chris Christie, Tommy Thompson, etc... Seems like a telltale sign that you are an asshole born of assholes. An Ass Assholeson, if you will.

Now imagine, if you will, the futzing and flummoxing that would go on if Trump were to actually win and begin trying to fill his cabinet... It’s this time 200. I shudder to think of the collection of asshats that will have control of this nation.

At this point, Christie's last hope is that Trump wins and installs him as AG.

You’re not going to be President, and I’m not either. In your case, though, I’d like to suggest some remedial science fiction viewing, because you’re stubbornly sticking to this Archer nonsense.
