Words from one of the officers killed, Officer Montrell Jackson (who, it seems worth noting, was, himself, black):

“I swear to God I love this city, but I wonder if this city loves me. In uniform I get nasty, hateful looks and out of uniform some consider me a threat. I’ve experienced so much in my short life and these last 3 days have tested me to the core. When people you know begin to question your integrity, you realize they don’t really know you at all. ... These are trying times. Please don’t let hate infect your heart.”

I hate to be “that” guy, but why were the police responding to a call about a man walking down the street with a rifle in a state where you can open carry without a permit?

Or, maybe because it’s the job of the police to make sure someone isn’t committing a crime when they get a call. Do you think cops ignore calls? Better yet, do you think cops don't stop white people open carrying rifles? Because YouTube would love to show you otherwise.

Then people should think about that before they take a person’s eye, can’t blame the one eyed man for wanting you to feel the same.

    Lol at this delusional fuck

As a young man I had a spiritual revelation and traveled to Africa—my ancestral homeland. My spiritual journey took me across the continent where I was taught by native spiritual practitioners and elder holistic healers. In Africa I was spiritually directed to gather the laws of the universe. They are the principles that govern every aspect of life. The universe exists in perfect harmony by virtue of these laws. They control and dictate what science calls energy, and what religions call God. If you understand the laws that govern Y.O.U. (Your Own Universe), you can manipulate, shape, and mold them to your liking. I have compiled these 124 Universal Laws and their use in The Laws of The Cosmos

This guy, just like Micah X, read and identified with the same bullshit African Egyptian supremacist canard. I’d love a gawker expose on that “sub-culture”

    So cringe worthy

‘declaring he was “not affiliated with anyone,”’

But don’t you worry, it will get pinned on BLM. And also Muslims somehow.

    Thanks, Obama.

The problem with BLM is not that they don’t have legitimate grievances (they do), it is that many in the movement have demonized all cops and making it seem like cops go out of their way to hunt down black people. The criminal justice system in the United States has been more unfair to black people than most can even imagine, but I’m not sure BLM is addressing this in a very effective way.

So this guy and the Dallas shooter were both veterans. Are any politicians (or news beyond just reporting information on the shooters) looking at these tragedies from this angle/what is going on with veterans or is everyone just saying this was “just” a black guy going after the cops because of the other recent tragedies?

I know that this story is developing but it seems like something worth looking into IMO.

Not to put too fine a point on it but veterans make up millions of people in our society. Pointing at veterans as a problem is the same as pointing at blacks, muslims, or video game players. It’s an incredibly broad stroke.

On Twitter, Setepenra advocated violent resistance, writing, “Violence is not THE answer (its a answer), but at what point do you stand up so that your people dont become the Native Americans...EXTINCT?”

In a chilling message posted the night before Sunday’s shooting, Setepenra tweeted “just bc you shed your physical body doesn’t mean that you’re dead.”

If we ever get a completely revised system of background checks of the ground, perhaps a peek at your twitter feed should be on the list.

I know quite a few Native Americans who are going to be very surprised to find out that they no longer exist.

    Toxic masculinity.

“Online, Cosmo Setepenra presented himself as a spiritual advisor and life coach who often spoke about alpha males (identifying himself as an “alpha prenuer”)...”

If he’d left out the race war stuff, he sounds like Eliot Rodgers. :(
