The future of America doesn’t need higher education. It just needs to be wallier and greatier.

Why else would a confidence artist love the poorly educated but to Make America Greatier?

I've been pushing for my cubicle to be wallier. Four walls, dammit! Keep all those undesirables out (pretty much everyone except my mom and maybe Travis Fimmel).

Not bad for a part time job.

Based on your other comments, I’ll assume you’re just being a disingenuous asshole.

But for anyone else reading, no, teaching enough sections to earn that cushy $12,600 is not a part time job.

Well I'm an adjunct at a public university and we aren't unionized. But you probably know best.

I wonder what a full load is. At the university I attend a full load for facility means a 2-2 and we have a quarter system.

      It’s a 3-3 load on a semester basis.

Looks like 6 classes a year.

But to be honest i’m not sure how many of these sessionals can get close to a full load of teaching at one university. Firstly, the university won’t want them full time because that means health insurance and other benefits, and secondly it’s really hard to get access to 6 courses that are available to you to teach, both in terms of it being in your teaching area and also that it would have to not clash with your other courses.

I’ve taught at a university in Canada (slightly different and slightly better than the States) but i’ve always struggled to find enough courses to teach to be able to make enough per year to make it worth it (I could make more money serving coffee at starbucks). You can shop around at different universities, but that means a lot of commuting.

$2100 per course is fucking depressing, the fact that this is a 40% increase from their previous wage is even more depressing.

The most depressing part of my experience was the fact I got paid less than my teaching assistant because they’re part of a better union.

Sweet. Now they can buy some duct tape to patch up their shanties by the railroad tracks.
