Sure, make things difficult for the party that actually wants to raise your wages and allow you to unionize. Brilliant plan!

You realize that all the Democrats really do these days, re: unions, is stand by and collect votes while the entire thing collapses, right?

It is the Philly airport, not Trump’s corporation. A strike at a transit hub hurts the average person.

That sounds like a great reason to end managerial intransigence and negotiate.

“The purpose of the DNC is to lift workers out of poverty,” Morgan said. “What these workers are fighting for is what the DNC and the convention is supposed to be about.”

The purpose of the DNC is to get their candidates elected so that all the sweet bribe and lobbying money goes to them instead of the Republicans. If you think the Democrats, at least at the national level, give a crap about the “little guy”, you are delusional as the people who think the Republicans give a crap about the Constitution.

That last part isn’t exactly true. The dems care more than the reps do at least- $15 wage will at least be in the national platform, equal protection always is, unions technically are as well. None of that shit is on any republicon agenda...

Philly is already a mess because half of its Regional Rail system is not operational so commuting the past week has been brutal. Now the airport is shutting down.

All we need now is for them to limit I95 to one lane and we will truly have become Hell on Earth.

You think the people who take public transit regularly are the same people who are going to be affected by an airport shutdown?

I’m sitting in my suburban home reading this and laughing my ass off. Such a cluster fuck that doesn’t affect me in the least. I love having the advantage of driving from one suburb to another nice suburb for work. Shit like this makes me so happy I left the city.

Meanwhile, a group of Bernie or Busters are still planning to have a “fart in” protest at the DNC. I sorta presume the airport strike may leave a wee bigger impact.

It’s an airport strike, not a bus driver strike. Bernie folks will get there just fine. In fact many are already half way there.

Everyone realizes that this isn’t an action against the DNC, right? They’re trying to cause pressure & embarrassment for the management at the airport to gain maximum leverage in negotiating their work conditions & wages.

You go to John’s Roast Pork or Dinic’s in Reading Terminal Market and ask for sharp provolone.

Then you have a great sandwich.

Our local news in philly said its the porters, the people who help handicap people, and other misc. functions. The mayor supports the strike as well, saying, “everyone deserves a fair wage, benefits and a right to unionize.” We’re big on unions in philly.

They aren’t protesting. They haven’t had a contract for something like three years. They are using the convention for leverage and publicity.
