Cheeto Jesus is going to have a tricky time finding a rough-and-tumble, take-no-prisoners, balls-to-the-wall streetfighter who miraculously transforms into a sycophantic yes-man on Inauguration Day.

It’s going to be Romney, guys. Romney ticks all the boxes - he is an establishment guy who knows how it works in Washington and has a lot of connections, and he’s good at hand-to-hand combat, and he’s shown that he can be a relentless political attack dog (well, at least against Trump).

Gingrich, Pence, and Christie are too predictable; the fact that everyone is bandying those names around proves that he won’t choose them. The same goes for Gary Busey and Ivanka Trump. No one is thinking Romney, and the motto of this election cycle is that “Anything can happen”. Yes it would be a glaring continuity error and be wildly out out of character, but that doesn’t matter this year.

I mean, at this point it seems like it pretty much has to be Gingrich, unless he decides to take the crazy up even another notch and make Ivanka his running mate.

Christie adds literally nothing to the ticket, as his few good points are all traits Trump shares, and it doesn’t seem like Trump has any personal respect for him either. Carson hasn’t even been effective on the campaign trail, probably because he can’t wake up to shill for Trump. And all of the other people whose names have been thrown around seem to have backed away from him or have made some critical statements lately, and I don’t see Trump forgiving that quickly, if ever.

Um, Christie tips the scale into credibility. He brings a lot to the table. He has gravitas to spare.

It occurs to me — as cooler heads start prevailing within the Trump camp (Manafort and Ivanka in, Lewandowski out), Trump may decide to begin making overtures to the Republican establishment. He may choose to win them over by picking someone with credibility among the mainstream, a strong and prominent leader who has already established himself as the figurehead of the anti-Trump coalition in Washington. A leader who can help him consolidate his support and gear up to take on Clinton in November.

Someone who also has experience in “hand to hand” combat.. a former Massachusetts governor and perennial presidential candidate who also happens to be a skilled boxer who narrowly lost to four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield in a decisive title bout just last year.

There would nothing funnier than seeing Trump ask Romney to be the VP nominee and Romney politely declining the offer by kicking the presidential candidate in the balls on live TV.

They’re pretty much going to have to broadcast the convention on delay. There’s no way they would do it live and have to cut away from all the screaming matches, impromptu knife fights, and incidents where one delegate coldcocks another with a collapsible metal chair.

Well let’s see, he could go with Jesse Ventura, who is a former governor, and full time conspiracy nut. Glenn Jacobs, who is thinking of running for office as a Libertarian. You can always pop in the governator, since he doesn’t have to qualify for the presidential requirements if I remember right. (I believe they are less stringent on VPs)

He could also go with any number of MMA fighters, which would make debates fucking hilarious. Someone tries to discuss issues, and then gets put in a rear naked choke.

HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE Glenn Jacobs would be the best debater ever. The other person walks to the podium, and then Glenn walks onstage in a mask, and hits the pyro. If the debate goes badly, he can just chokeslam his opponent. :)
