    I’m gonna go ahead and be really immature, for once, and say that I finally realized who Christie reminds me of: Humpty Dumpty. The man is an egg.

    To be fair, no one thought to look for the phone in the breakroom mayonnaise.

    The governor’s office hired Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher after the lane closings to conduct an internal investigation of the Bridgegate scheme and cleared the governor of any involvement.

    Well, that settles it then.

      What’s funny is if the Christie really was innocent, which we all know he isn’t, that’s even scarier that his aides can do something like shut down a bridge and he doesn’t question it. Either way Christie is a complete fuck up.

      The irony in this situation is delicious. This all came about because Christie wanted endorsement from a democratic Mayor, not so he could win but so he could win bigger, and solidify his run for president this year. Bridgegate was retaliation for refusal of that endorsement, right? What a spectacularly self-defeating thing to do.

    This post originally stated that Bill Baroni and Bridget Kelly pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the investigation into Bridgegate. They pleaded not guilty, lol.

      Chief Wiggum: Mrs. Simpson, I have some bad news; your husband was found DOA.

      Marge: Oh my God! He’s dead?!

      Chief Wiggum: Oh, wait, I mean DWI. I always get those two mixed up.

      ::Woman walks into police station::

      Woman: My name’s Mrs. Phillips. You said my husband’s DWI?

      Chief Wiggum: Um, why don’t you talk to that officer over there? I’m going out to lunch.

    Ok. So somebody found a cellphone in the property of a barred attorney. A phone whose records have already been examined and determined not relevant by the court in a case that is several months old. This is not “investigative” journalism, Brendan. It stirring the pot.

      The contents of the phone have never been reviewed by any court.

    Now that's some quality judging there, "I see we have found the suppressed evidence, now that we know where it is, you can't see it." Like when Scalia said we can't count ballots, because if we count them, Bush might lose. If we look into whats on that phone, we might be forced to indict Christie despite how hard we have been trying for 3 years not to prosecute.

      In related news, Chris Christie found 2 Moto RAZRs, an iPhone 3G, and an old SprintPCS push-to-talk handset from circa 1997 under his left jowl.

        So they can’t find the phone for months until a judge rules they don’t have to turn over it over anyway and suddenly they find it?
