Its cool that the protesters who are against police brutality are getting brutalized by the police. Especially one of the dudes who’s at the forefront of the movement. I wanna give a round of applause to the police department’s strategy and marketing department, they’re really churning out good ideas. /sarcasm

I’m not responding to tom.blech directly, as he sounds quite trolleque. I only wanted to note that there is video evidence from phones that say totally otherwise. But they gotta use something for a charge.

I’ll never understand the refusal to drop charges in cases like this. You’ve arrested him, you’ve made your point. Why waste the DA office’s time and the court’s time harassing him? It’s just spiteful.

The problem is that doubling down is an industry-wide standard bluff.

Given the conflicting accounts, has anyone ascertained whether McKesson was actually blocking the street? Because given the depiction of the two officers targeting him, I really didn’t think he would have made it out of holding alive. I hate to think this way, but there’s precedent now, right?

I’m all for black lives matter, but some people are taking it in the opposite direction of equality. While riding our bikes earlier and just collecting pokemon, me and my wife stopped at a park to use the water fountain. We were told by an african american teenager that “the fountain doesn’t work, keep walkin”. The entire thing happened infront of the kids mother who just stared us down like we are criminals for stopping to get water at a public park. Wearing a T-shirt that says black lives matter and yet treating other races like they are less than you is like wearing a pride shirt while preaching the koran.

You probably shouldn’t ride your bike while playing Pokemon.

If it’s wrong to arrest people wearing shirts with hashtags on them, then I don’t want to be right.

The charge should’ve been for wearing a shirt that says “woke” on it

Unimportant but fun to think about: McKesson aspires to a political career, from what I can find about him, but if he would like to consider acting, he could play himself in the movie about this. Very photogenic man.

And hey, some actors have gone on to quite major political offices, too!

The police will ordinarily use a weekend arrest to keep you in jail until Monday morning so this might be able to be construed as a small win.

A classmate of mine was arrested during an early ‘70s anti-war demo in Washington, D.C. on a Saturday, incarcerated with a thousand others in an open-air stadium, and released the following Monday.

      The charge? Jaywalking.

Being busted for loud shoes does deserve a faster checkout time. Judges just put their heads in their hands when they get these cases. And not because of the defendants.

Police presence is not provocation. That said, McKesson clearly “obeyed orders”, broke no laws, peacefully protested and was subsequently tackled by Baton Rouge PD. And I’m very pro cop but wtf happened here???

The police targeted him because they don’t like him and lied in order arrest him. No doubt they took the chance to get in some gratuitious hits in. In other words, cops be coppin’
