To anyone about to suggest that heavier restriction of guns would have prevented deaths here: you’re obviously wrong. More guns in society is the answer. I mean, just imagine how different the situation would have been if the police themselves were allowed to carry guns. This guy would be dead already!

I hope that people are beginning to see that this was a well-planned out attack that didn’t have to do with the protestors. Most of the protestors they’ve interviewed are terrified. I say this because it’s inevitable that it’s going to be spun as if this is black people vs police.

The police chief and the Dallas Fox affiliate have made suggestions that they’re concerned about complicity due to the fact that the shooters knew the route the protest was taking.

Fox News, incidentally, is showing live footage of a 7-11 where a group of black teenagers are taunting the police, flashing gun signs at them.

These people were not amateurs. This was a sophisticated, planned attack conducted by people who were familiar with rifles and how to use them in an assault. Every single military person I know who has seen this video has remarked on how it appears to be textbook light infantry tactics.

I don’t know who the fuck did this, but it scares the shit out of me that four people were coordinated enough to perpetrate targeted mass murder during a peaceful protest.

It scares me, too. But what also scares me is that four unstable people with guns is not a unique combo in this country of ours.

Serious question: Why not a BLM vigil for Dallas police? We could all use a little solidarity right now. We need to figure out how to unfuck this.

Well BLM is not an organized body or centrally located entity and mainly works through various spokespersons (most of which stopped speaking last year after the movement died). So while that’s possible it also begs the question why don’t police departments have vigils and invite community groups like BLM or Campaign Zero down when someone is shot by police?

I support BLM and the push for sweeping police reform, but I am absolutely against this predatory retaliation against police. I would love for a BLM vigil for these fallen and injured officers and a show of solidarity, but I honestly believe it's too reasonable of a thing to actually happen.

This. I have my own theories, but don’t want to say anything at this point beyond that I think when this group is revealed, it’ll be a name we’ve become all too familiar with in recent years.

Anyone who blames the BLM movement is an idiot. This certainly doesn’t help. I feel terrible for the Dallas police who have seen colleagues murdered and seriously injured. Being a police officer isn’t the most dangerous job, but it can be and often without warning.

It’s a bad move in the game to execute a police officer. Strange game. The only winning move is not to play. How about a nice game of chess?

What do they even hope to accomplish? If they’d killed, say, one of the cops acquitted in the Freddie Gray case, I’d understand it. I wouldn’t support it, but I’d see the reason. But this? They inserted their terrorist bullshit into a peaceful and productive protest movement, by attacking cops who were themselves peacefully monitoring the protest. What could be gained? What sort of societal change starts with the public murder of innocent people?

Depends on who did it- Revolution? Destabilization? Militarization? Race war? Take your pick.

Yup, the body movement screams military training. This is seemingly much more complicated an event than I think most of us assumed. There was planning and training practiced here.
