I’m not watching this video, and I haven’t watched the other one. I’ve already seen too many of them and they make me want to set the world on fire. So, for those of you who have seen the videos, is there any way to tell if the officers saw a gun in his pocket that he might have been reaching for (even if he wasn’t brandishing it), or is there a way to tell if the gun was planted after the fact, or is it all just a big jumble of bodies and gunfire which will ultimately boil down to the same old bullshit line that the officers acted “appropriately”?

It’s still not a spectacular angle but he lays dying with his hands as far from his pockets as you can get. And just before that he was pinned by two cops on top of him so it seems really unlikely.

I watched it. I wish I had not. It’s an execution video. If he had a gun it wasn’t in his hands and he was absolutely no threat to those to fat fucking pussies who should be publicly hanged for murder.

Ya know, underlying all of this shit is the fact that if we’re going to be a gun toting bunch of yahoos then having a gun itself cannot warrant shooting someone. Amirite? I’m so sick of this shit. He’s got a gun! Yes, he does. In his motherfucking pocket.

How it works: If you’re white, it’s your constitutional right to own and possess a gun. If you’re black, it’s your fault if you get shot by the police because you own and possess a gun.

Police seized footage from Muflahti’s surveillance cameras, despite his objections that they needed a warrent.

This sort of shit is doing more to turn the people against the law enforcement community than Black Lives Matter could ever hope to accomplish. It’s not just the wanton use of deadly force, it’s the systematic suppression of evidence and perversion of the law to ensure that no officer is ever held accountable. This sense that law enforcement officers are above the law, above the people, and above being held responsible; that is why people are outraged.

But unbeknownst to them, Muflahti and another bystander, Arthur Reed, had also recorded the incident on their cell phones.

Mr. Muflahti knows what is up, and is sharp as f*** for doing that. Good on him, he might be the reason why something actually gets done (*laughs hysterically then cries cause, no*) on this one.

This is the problem with people who support “gun control.” It doesn’t mean an absence of guns, it simply means that you think police should have guns so that they can take private citizens weapons by force if necessary. Are these the people you want to give exclusivity on gun possession?

It won’t matter. Bigots and racists don’t care for facts or video evidence. They could see a dozen children of color shot point blank by police for chewing bubble gum and find a way to blame the parents, or the children themselves.

None of these officers ever see justice. Because the jury they face will be 90% white women or males who have been indoctrinated to believe that all black men save for Wayne Brady and Will Smith are dangerous criminals, and deserve whatever bullets they receive. They don’t believe in redemption, in forgiveness, in introspection when it comes to black lives, someones criminal past makes them worthless in the eyes of many in our society.

The change we want will never happen in this society, don’t look for it, don’t expect it. March if you want but we live in a country where police are judge, jury, and yes executioner... they receive the breaks, the excuses, the blind support of the powers that be. That is why 99% of the police that murder innocent folks black, white, latino, will never see a conviction.

We exist here because we must, or because we have no real choice. The system is designed to relegate people of color to the lowest caste of society, and there is no margin of error. Do anything, anything that might be perceived as not total acquiescence to the powers that be, and you will be gunned down like an animal, not worthy of life. Even folks surrendering or following orders have been riddled with bullets for it.

The evidence will be covered up, doctored, the witnesses intimated and bullied. People who weren’t even there will have their testimonies added to muddy the water. People will angrily protest, and some folks up to no good will start fires and others who are poor and disadvantaged will loot stores, throw rocks, and behave poorly. Eventually the great majority will go back to pretending that everything is ok. The faces of the guilty and murdered will be forgotten, and the system will roll on.

As someone a long time ago on this board said... America is not built for black people.

Yes, but he had a criminal record and did some terrible things in the past, so apparently Constitution 2.0 Internet Edition says that it’s okay for cops to gun him down.

I hear they’ve just released a new feature in version 2.5, called Jstfy, where it’s OK to for cops kill people, if they have a criminal record, even if the cops didn’t know that he had a criminal record at the time.

All of these idiots screaming about “he shouldn’t have had a gun!!” and “he was arrested for something before!!!” need to realize that neither of those things merit capital fucking punishment. And the cops had no knowledge of either one of those things at the time they shot this man. It’s not like they ran across Whitey Bulger selling CDs and were thus extra cautious. Illegal possession of a firearm is not a capital offense. Period.

There’s something so American about being forced to watch an ad for McMansion garage lights from the “Big Ass Light” company before watching a video of police murdering a black man.

Why write a ticket for a minor crime when you can murder someone? No one joins the police to keep their penmanship polished.

In the eponymous movie, Jack Reacher explains the different reasons men join the military. The last, he says, are guys who want a government mandate to murder. We might make some headway when we admit that a disturbingly large number of men become cops precisely so they can do the shit in this video. It’s no longer “protect and serve”, it’s “seek and destroy”. We are still living in the “Mississippi Burning” era.

But the video clearly corroborates the police officers claim that the assailant was black. I expect the DA will consider this case closed.
