“This crime, which causes goosebumps, could not have been perpetrated by someone who had an atom of belief in his heart,” the Grand Mufti, Abdullah al-Sheikh, said.

I make no pretense to know a lot about Islam and the Holy Cities, but this strikes me as way beyond the pale even for ISIS.

That is what is baffling me. Who thought this was a good idea? They are so religious that they are attacking their own holiest shrines?

Fucking fundamentalists are the problem with any religion. Whether it’s Christian fundamentalists killing other Christians over abortion, the hard-right ultra-orthodox Jewish assassin of Yitzhak Rabin, or these assholes WHO ARE KILLING MUSLIMS, that’s the problem.

Blaming “Islam” for ISIS is like blaming Christianity for The Troubles.

So when Christians blow up clinics in America or when they blew up cafés during the Troubles, it’s because Christianity is a violent religion?

And when Haredi Jews attack women for immodest dress, it’s because Judaism is a violent religion?

And when Buddhists perpetrate ethnic cleansing against Royhinga Muslims, it’s because Buddhism is a violent religion?

I know the ISIS team is not big on logic. But what is the thought process behind attacking one of the holiest places in Islam? This is supposed to endear them to anyone?

      No, really.

They really, really hate the Sauds. ISIS embarrasses the Sauds, who in reality are supposed to exist as protectors of Medina and Mecca (not just oil tycoons). Basically, this is to make the royal family look incompetent and cause civil unrest against them.

How they intend for that to work with the iron military grip the Sauds have on the region is beyond me. But I'm also not someone who is willing to blow themselves up, so I can't necessarily see their logic.

As if we needed more proof that terrorism has straight up nothing to do with Islam. Sad, but maybe this will finally get people to understand that terrorism has no ideology. This really has got me trippin this morning.

But I guess that just solidifies my decision to vote for Hillary Clinton. As a Bernie supporter I was a little apprehensive, but now that she won the primary by tens of millions of votes I have actually educated myself on her policies. And you know something? Wow, I am hella impressed.

So check it, our girl Hills is gonna:

    1) Continue to regulate Wall Street [She wrote and passed Dodd Frank].

    2) Get us out of the Middle East for good and defund the military.

    3) Use that extra cash to pay off our student loans.

As if I needed another reason to vote for her. She is gonna do student loan reform and make them go away? Yes, she is. That is a legit baller thing to do and straight up fair. Wall Street took advantage of us with those loans and our girl knows that.

Man, I never thought I’d say this but I’m actually getting really excited to vote for Hillary Clinton. She is so lit.

It really takes you out of the horror of the moment when you see the building in the background of the photo at the top and think, “that looks a lot like the Drury Inn over by I-70...”

Getting more off topic: Mecca and Medina are actually two culturally diverse cities. Despite being restricted to Muslims only, they’re both very much global cities with visitors coming from all parts of the world year round.

Holy hell, what’s next? Are they going to bomb Mecca? This is galling even for them. Attacking holy sites is insane if you are trying to recruit people of that religion. Seriously, these fuckers have to go. They’ve destroyed ancient artifacts, and now attacking holy sites? Fuck these jokers. All this will do is galvanize all of the middle east against them, in addition to the west. There is something that is scaring the hell out of me. When the hajj begins, are they going to strike again? There is an unimaginable amount of people on the pilgrimage. If they attacked then, it would be devastating.

My heart goes out to the wounded and dead. Also, I really hope what I found is accurate.

Allaahum-maghfir lihayyinaa, wa mayyitinaa, wa shaahidinaa, wa ghaa’ibinaa, wa sagheerinaa wa kabeerinaa, wa thakarinaa wa ‘unthaanaa. Allaahumma man ‘ahyaytahu minnaa fa’ahyihi ‘alal-’Islaami, wa man tawaffaytahu minnaa fatawaffahu ‘alal-’eemaani, Allaahumma laa tahrimnaa ‘ajrahu wa laa tudhillanaa ba’dahu.

Ugh, that is horrible. I can’t believe anyone could attack holy sites. You would think that would be off limits even for terrorists. Makes me sick.

This is one of the things that makes me roll my eyes when I hear Trumpists babbling “Islam is at war with us!!!1!” as they do so ceaselessly. Which part of “Islam” are you talking about, orange moron? Given that he has no idea what the “nuclear triad” is, and he thinks it would be a great idea with no downside to give overseas holders of U.S. Treasury bonds “a haircut,” I’ll bet you could get Trump, along with a majority of his supporters, to agree with the contention that ISIS is in league with the Iranians.

The Mohammedan religion didn’t even last twenty-five years past its founder’s death before it underwent a huge schism and both sides fell to butchering one another, and that internal war between the Shiites and the Sunnis continues to this day. That’s fourteen centuries of non-stop religious war. These people are nuts! Not that Christians have a lot to brag about with regard to their tolerance for sectarian division in their own history.

People, regardless of religion, ethnicity, tribe or race, typically don’t like getting blowed up. And they are for the most part likely to turn hostile to people who try to blow them or their families up.

Way to not learn the lesson of the U.S. occupation in Iraq...stupid ISIS.
