    Virginia to Vita:

Look here Vita — throw over your man, and we’ll go to Hampton Court and dine on the river together and walk in the garden in the moonlight and come home late and have a bottle of wine and get tipsy, and I’ll tell you all the things I have in my head, millions, myriads — They won’t stir by day, only by dark on the river. Think of that. Throw over your man, I say, and come.

Best love letter ever, or best love letter ever?

Since the gardens of Hampton Court are my happy place (I want nothing more than to live in the riverside banqueting house) I am in complete agreement with you, a wonderful letter.

Nothing to add, just in awe and thinking.

      Made me search, find this...

      http://historybuff.com/8-crushingly-b...

Jumping off from here. Quotes, pictures, such longing... Beats a gleeful “let’s roll over then, Bessie!” or some of the lesser, wholly awkward mashings I’ve received.

The worst is when you resemble the unattainable true obsession of the masher. eeeeewww

Oh wow this train car has a gross looky-loo. I’m stuck for the next 9 with this schmoe. Dammit, Virginia, you’re honeyed prose has lured yet another innocent to distraction!

Pass. Virginia Woolf was an anti-semite. Her work is filled with racist undertones.

I never understood that. I mean, she married a Jewish man and STILL despised Jewish people. What the hell, Virginia.

Also, I’m beginning to suspect she may have cheated on him.

Orlando is one of my favorite books. In light of this, I think I’ll read it again. It was also the first Virginia Woolf I read, and (at the time) I was a little disappointed to find she never wrote anything else quite like it!

I want to see the love story between HD and Bryher made into a film. Hell, HD’s entire life on screen — yes, want it.
