    There are a lot of great things about this country but we willingly and carelessly dropped the ball in so many crucial areas. I don’t want to bring back the forced sterilization and lobotomy horrors of yesteryear but we need to do something real and substantial about mental health in this country because in properly addressing this issue we would actually fix a lot of other issues in the process as well. So much wasted potential, so many people we’ve failed.

      A 33-year-old woman was walking on E. 91st St. near Madison Ave. about 2:25 p.m. when the man hit her in the face with excrement.

      She wasn’t injured.

      Except emotionally.

      (they really do need better mental health outreach programs in shelters)
