Serious answer: he is a republican who got elected governor twice in a blue state. He has actually been elected to office, unlike his new friend. He’s seen as a pragmatic law & order type who doesn’t lean hard on social issues. He has actual executive experience governing a large state, experience of the kind that Trump is sorely lacking. He’s had to negotiate and finesse hostile legislatures in Trenton during both of his terms, so he’s no stranger to the scrum of opposition politics.

He’s also a thin-skinned bullyboy much like his new orange master, but you asked. That’s what people will say.

Gonna be Christie. Gonna be Christie. Get your bets in, smart money’s on him.

His latest approval ratings in his own state? 26 percent.

    http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/c...

“Despite his statements to the contrary, the vast majority of New Jerseyans seem to believe that Christie’s main concern right now is figuring how to get out of the state as soon as possible,” Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, said in a press release.

New Jerseyans ain’t stupid. They know an opportunistic shnook when they see one.

“My god, what have I done?”

Good Lord, look at Christie up there. He looks like somebody deliberately trying to drive himself nuts so it’ll hurt less, with no success. It’s like Tennessee Williams wrote Night of the Iguana and set it in Jersey.

I don’t think either one will be the VP nominee, but a Newt v. Liz Warren debate would be a sweet thing to watch. Mostly her jabbing him in the chin through his thick cloud of bloviating smarm.

I strongly dislike Christie, and this whole mess. But I have to say—his takedown of Rubio at that debate in February was positively glorious. A true thing of beauty.

He used to be a prosecuting attorney and he was apparently very good at his job, so that isn’t really surprising.

When was he a prosecuting attorney?!! Why do people not know anything about what Chris Christie ACTUALLY has done in his life?!

He never prosecuted people. He was in charge of the office that prosecuted people. That means he did not go to court. He got that job after fundraising for GWB, and he got it without ever being a prosecutor. Simple political patronage. I’d be surprised if you could find something showing he ever sat first chair in an actual courtroom prosecution. Many years ago he was in private practice and became partner, but who knows the last time he was actually ever in court as just a working attorney.

Do a little research and you will be surprised what a false narrative Christie has built. Don’t fall for it.

Given that I literally don’t know anyone who doesn’t refer to him as ‘Chris Christie, that fat fuck’ , the terms of endearment Gawker Media is going to have for the two of them should be truly epic.
