Nice to know that those of us who can’t exercise (or at least not well or regularly) don’t live purposeful lives... (Yeah, I’m being picky, I know. Still rubs me the wrong way though.)

I wish I were hot and 15. I’d rock those yoga pants covered in cat hair and the T-shirt with French onion dip stains on it.

I am reeeeally late to the party, but I am slowly discovering yoga clothing. I used to come home from work and just go straight to pajamas because COMFORT, which got me weird looks when I was at the grocery store, library, or dog park at 6pm in a matched pajama set (I never wore it to my fave bar so apparently I do have standards tho). Now I can put on yoga capris and a slouchy tank and it’s like socially acceptable pajamas! BEST EVER. Only downside, athleisure is so damn expensive for so little fabric...

I have pretty low standards, but all my yoga pants are Old Navy — pretty cheap if you can catch a sale. A little heavy for summer wear, maybe, but they have held up well so far. (And they’re all I wear from Nov.-Apr., because I work from home and I’m sure as hell not putting on REAL pants for that!)

So we’ll just judge your body in a bedazzled sports bra and lycra booty shorts vs. a bikini. Baby steps.

(I mean I guess this is *slightly* better than a string bikini)

It’s good, but not enough. Now that they’re wearing athleisure, they should go further and include a “Wipeout!” style obstacle course as part of the competition.

Pretty much any and everything can be improved dramatically by including a “Wipeout!” style obstacle course.

I’m sitting here, devoting some serious thought to this and maybe, maybe funerals? But they’d certainly be fun at the wake and I dunno, I love the idea of my family doing an obstacle course at my funeral in memory of me. Esp. if I got to design it. I’ve got plans for my sister (those punchy walls with a mud pit). And last one standing gets all the money!

Somewhere Trump is itching to tweet, “Terrible idea. Worst idea ever. Pageant was so much better when I ran it. Sad!”

This gave him the idea to require Hope Hicks to wear yoga shorts to the office, though, so wash

it doesn’t matter if it’s a swimsuit, yoga pants, athleisure suit... we’re still looking at 14-19 year old women in the wrong way. the character of a young woman has nothing to do with what her body looks like and whatever the hell she is wearing.

the problem is the pageant itself. not the clothes.

Pageants have pretty much always been about looks, haven’t they? It’s why I just don’t have any interest in watching them.

I would support this if maybe it also emphasized a shift towards celebrating all types of “active and purposeful” bodies, but a change between a thin, perky breasted girl in a bikini and one in active wear is hardly inspiring.

Or if it were a celebration of actual teenage athletes, not just pretty bodies in athletic wear.

I’d like to see bodies of all levels of ableness. Shifting a standard of thinness to a standard of athleticism is just a paradigm change - some bodies are still appreciated more than others.

Someone who has never run a day in their life (or who can’t run, period) has a body that is just as worthy of love as someone who very fit.
