This is literally the least effective way to reach young Sanders supporters. A more effective way might be to take Sanders’s position on higher education and student debt to heart, instead of settling on debt deferral for tech bros. That would be a start, at least. But you know, you can’t nae nae / whip / selfie any of that. It requires an actual ideological and policy-level commitment. So ... not likely to happen, in other words.

I know! Everybody knows that the best way to reach them is to promise them shit nobody other than them is dumb enough to believe you can (or even intend to) deliver on.

I’ll take HRC over Trump any day of the week, but it gets tiring listening either to crazed, contradictory answers from the mutated apricot, and her non-answers (or third way answers that change nothing).

Word. I used to think the exact same thing. Then I educated myself on Hillary and am now super stoked to vote for her. You know, my life’s greatest goal is to have a daughter some day. And, well, if I can make this world better for her by casting a historical vote for our girl Hills? I’m going to make damn sure I do that. Let’s make history. Let’s get the first woman president elected. What a trip for real.

“What are your concrete plans to win back the trust of Black America?”

“I certainly understand and even agree with what you said about the perpetuation of systemic racism. I have spoken out about that. I have addressed it. I also was very honored to receive a huge percentage of the vote of the African-Americans in the primary and I am grateful for that because so many people know of my history. I don’t always talk about it, so I’m not surprised that younger people don’t. [...] I am more than open to an [sic] receptive to dealing with the systemic problems that are in root of injustice, disunity, and inequality in our country.”

Hilldawg, come on. No I’m not voting for Trump, but you have got to do better than evasive, beauty-pageant answers. Geezus christ.

(Also the editing on the People article is atrocious.)

Actually, she really doesn’t need to do any better. She has about 95% of the African American vote wrapped up and even the people who claims she has to do better are going to vote for her.

Personally I think the thing she needs to work on the most is communicating what her actual platforms are to the younger voters, and encourage her supporters to do the same. I see way too many Hillary supporters calling Sander’s supporters names, insulting their understanding of economics, and bashing them for not jumping on the party band wagon. A lot of his supporters are young, and many have not been involved in politics long enough to really develop party loyalty of any sort. Having members of the party they are interested in attack them for not towing a party line is not going to get them to come along quietly, if at all.

The “I’m better than Trump” position is not going to work unless they actually understand why she is better. Considering the fact that she has repeatedly talked down to Sander’s supporters, and acted with what they perceive to be contempt for their positions, she has a long way to go.

How much onus is on the voter, though, to do their own research in the current information age? Some of this information is easily found, but I’ve seen people on the left use Breitbart as proof that Clinton is evil. In those cases, that’s a really hard stumbling block.

I don’t think she understands (or likely doesn’t care), that she could turn an entire f*cking generation of voters blue for life, if she does this right. We can even reverse some of the operation red map cluster. Non-answers like this, and a lack of concrete policy, do not help.

Young people are not going to vote.

Saw it yesterday in the Colorado primary, in which several “Bernie progressives” were running for state house and senate — and in every case, got their asses kicked — and guess what? YOUNG PEOPLE DIDN’T VOTE.

This “revolution” you speak of is nothing more than a cult of personality.

Man, I wish I was an influencer. Just think...people actually caring what you have to say, what you think about, what you like and don't like...me? I'm a male over the age of 40. It's been years since anybody even validated my existence, much less were swayed by what I had to say about anything.

I look forward to the day we see political candidates trying to appeal to us by mentioning the latest Dinosaur Jr. album, debating Pliny vs. Heady and telling us about the advantages of staying in a ski resort in spring.

I am pretty convinced after visiting Clinton and Trumps websites that Clinton has communicated her plan for America effectively enough to win in a landslide. I don’t think anyone thinking this decision through can vote Trump.

That being said, this isn’t a victory. The Conservative message has been lost over years of infighting, squabbles and compromise. They have lost the ability to reach the masses in ways that persuade. Things need to change and real victories in legislation have to be won that prove their way is the right way. If that doesn’t happen, the party will die. As a Conservative myself, possibly good riddance.

Unfortunately, as we move toward deeply rooted socialism, fear should be real and those who strive will no longer have a reason to. We will all be enslaved to debt and have nothing to show for our effort.

A landslide? Many of the latest polls have her at well under 50% of registered voters. Shouldn’t you at least have to win most of the votes in what is effectively a two party system in order for it to be a landslide?

Yes, the Website is good and all that; the problem is, though, that most voters don’t go to Websites for political information — they listen to television and radio programs where things are packaged into neat 30-second soundbites.
