One part I don’t understand is the part where it was totally “infringed” with a legal ban on assault weapons for years. Please explain, T-shirt.

What up what up what up. This is a fine Hump Day morn so far and I am not going to let a T Shirt ruin it. But it does have me thinking.

What if Bernie Sanders was not bought by the NRA? What if, instead of being 100% against gun control, including assault weapons, he was for some common sense measures like Hillary? Maybe then he would avoided losing fair and square to our girl. That was the only part of his platform that had me trippin.

It’s like, Bern - I’m feelin you for real but you gotta be more on point about gun control. I guess that’s the silver lining to the Hillary nomination. She is very concerned about guns in this country and Bernie was bought by the NRA a long time ago.

Do you get paid per post or hourly?

Also, how the fuck is this account out of the grey? Is this some sort of gawker joke or paid advertising?

Bernie Sanders has an “D-” rating from the NRA, meaning they do not support him at all. He’s had an “F” in many other years. The best he ever got from them was a “C-” in 2006.

Just because he is against some gun control regulations doesn’t mean he was bought by them.

I don’t know what kinds of gun measures we should have. An outright ban is not realistic, I realize. What I do wonder is why the First Amendment is provisional but the Second should somehow not be. There are all kinds of necessary restrictions on free speech - libel, treason, etc. And these make sense. The First Amendment is not absolute. Why, then, should the Second one be?

The Second Amendment is provisional. That’s why there are background checks and why the Supreme Court just upheld the case where domestic abusers are barred from buying guns. These people just don’t like that it’s provisional.

Regarding that shirt - What part of “A well regulated Militia” do YOU not understand? You want a gun, join the army.

It’s really curious that people who continue to parrot a misinterpretation of the first part of the amendment ad nauseam refuse to read like.... ANYTHING into why their retarded interpretation is laughably wrong.

It’s double secret retarded when they thing it’s a zing as well.

What’s retarded about it? If you go and read the actual diaries and journals of the founding fathers (including The Federalist Papers), it’s obvious that one of the big driving factors behind the 2nd Amendment was because a bunch of the militia that were called up during the Revolutionary War were fucking hopeless shots, even by the standards of their day, and couldn’t load, clean, or maintain their weapons properly. They had to be taught. At the time, a national army wasn’t a thing the US thought it would need, and instead chose to rely on individual state militias (up to and including the Civil War). The thought being that no state could pass a law that would restrict gun ownership so that the militias would be pre-trained with [at least] basic rifles.

We no longer have militias used for the defense of the country. We have a standing army. The root reason for the 2nd Amendment’s very existence is GONE.

Thanks for the Pre-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have to spend the 4th with the Southern contingent of my husband’s family and I know shit like this is going to come up. (Extra bonus: mandatory church service attendance because “family” and one of the cousins is preachin’. Female subservience to men is a hot topic in this congregation.)
