Is there any way we can get rid of waiting periods now?

We also need to make abortion procedure education mandatory for OBGYNS. I don’t care if they object on religious grounds, a real medical professional treats a patient no matter whether he thinks the patient is a sinner or not. A real medical professional doesn’t let his religion to get in the way of providing care.

Are doctors (or residents, or doctors-in-training) permitted to opt out of certain elements of their education?

I’m super pro-choice, but I think it’s a huge step from every woman has the right to abortion access to every OB has an obligation to provide the service.

Now, requiring every hospital that provides OB services to include abortion service, that I could get behind.

Hoosier here! I listened to a story yesterday on NPR where they played the audio from Pro Choice groups in Texas yesterday as they heard the news. “OMG they struck it down!!!” The whooping and screams of happiness had me in tears. I literally sat in my car in the car port crying.

How in the fuck is it 2016 and we are still fighting to have our rights to make our own choice about our bodies and our lives?

And I thought exactly what you said. “You’re next Pence!!”

Good. Fuck that asshole. And fuck the three assholes who are voting the way they are because they’re biased as fuck and not ruling at all in accordance with the Constitution, legal precedent, or just basic fucking logic.

Does anyone find the women in that lead photo as scary as I do? I can’t even begin to describe the personality types represented there.

The type to discover she’s pregnant and drive a few counties over to have an abortion at a clinic that won’t recognize her as a protester*.

*Not that being a protester would matter to the clinic staff, they are professionals that do their job even when they know the patient is a hypocrit that will be outside the clinic screaming “baby killer” in a few days.

I see a lot of faces of white privilege who are too young and sheltered to understand what the real world entails. I guarantee the hardest thing any of them has faced was not getting the date she wanted to the prom.

That muffled sound you hear is Scalia’s screams of rage, beneath the dirt.

ETA: And I’ll listen to his every scream with glee. Does that make me a bad person?

Set that shit to a dope beat and I’ll listen to it all day long.

Also I’m really proud of my state for having that law about filling a contraception script regardless of your religion and I’m really REALLY glad that SCOTUS upheld that.

If you ever want to be entertained the transcript of the 7th circuit hearing on that is a classic. Posner nearly made Wisconsin’s SG cry.

It’s excellent news, although there are still other TRAP laws that need to be challenged. Mandatory waiting periods are still allowed, and they’re still going to try and ban D & E abortions (although I think that will get struck down, since it would be effectively banning abortions after 10-12 weeks).

Waiting periods need to go. They make me so mad. They’re just as transparent as the ambulatory surgical center bullshit and just as patronizing as mandatory ultrasounds where they “describe” the “baby.”
