“Italian” and “humor” should always appear in quotations whenever they occur next to each other.

He might not be dead but The Road killed me. So much brutality, so much despair, no one with firearms around should be allowed to read it (which rules out the entire U.S. - heh)

I thought the same thing until one of my friends pointed out that about 75% of the non-starvation related problems could be solved if the man had a jogging stroller instead of a shopping cart. Now that's all I can picture and it totally ruins the mood of the book.

_No Country For Old Men_ isn’t any better on the bleakness front. MCCarthy’s Grimdark knob is permanently stuck at 11.

That’s it, I’ve covered my living room floor with USA Today while painting my apartment for the LAST time.

USA Today - the paper of choice whenever I’m stuck at Denny’s at 5 a.m.

Wow. A truly sad day. RIP to Cormac McCarthy. One of our country’s finest actors, gone too soon.

You’re not fooling anyone, Cormac, you’ll be stone dead in a moment.
          I think I’ll go for a walk.
Come on do us a favor.

And *THIS* is why I wait before posting about someone’s death. Like David Bowie’s - I got a fuck-ton of shit by Gawker commenters for questioning the validity of the first report.

He became dead to me in October 2013 when The Counselor was released in theatres. Same goes for Ridley Scott.
