Even though Trevor Noah probably didn’t have anything to do with the tweet, this post still reminds me of how downhill the show has gone since John Stewart left. It’s cringe inducing.

He is emphatically unfunny and while I also doubt he wrote this tweet it’s in line with his particular brand of bad comedy.

Yep, the true inheritor of Stewart’s crown is Samantha Bee’s incisive Full Frontal. I can’t even remember the last time I watched a clip of The Daily Show, much less a full episode.

Meh. It’s a bad (as in, unfunny) joke, but I’m not entirely sure the outrage is justified.

Yes, the joke above is an example of someone trying to be funny but failing. And if you think Trevor Noah personally writes everything on the Daily Show’s twitter account you’re very naive.

Yeah, agreed. I’ll admit I gave a quick snort and then went about my day, it didn’t strike me as particularly upsetting or outragey.

Umm. I know everyone is SURE Noah had nothing to do with this tweet, do we all not remember the Twitter “jokes” we all had to read through after he was hired on the a Daily Show?

So no. I do not for one second think they were all sitting in a writing room and EVERYONE thought this tweet was brilliant except Noah.

Btw, since I don’t watch it, does anyone know how many female writers the DS still employs?

I don’t think they have an entire writer’s room working on one social media account.

That's not what I meant. I meant they were all in the writers room, and someone came up with this and they all laughed and thought it was great and had some intern post it. I'm actually fairly sure this is how this happened.

You know when people profile, like, serial killers or whatever? Like “This person is probably a male in his late 40s, bad relationship with his mother, insecure, poorly educated but prone to snobbery and delusions of grandeur...”

This is what I like to do when an unknown entity sends out a particularly shitty tweet or email or marketing campaign...

I would argue everyone who works on TDS is pretty well educated. I have not enjoyed it since Stewart’s departure, but I don’t think they take people off the streets at that level of the entertainment game.

Ughhhh Trevor, no... man, I want to like him so much, but..... the show hasn’t been great, despite a few steady improvements and whoever wrote this shouldn’t be writing tweets for the show.

Ahhhh yes, Trevor Noah. The person who most likely had nothing to do with a tweet sent out by social media staffers. He is the true villain here.

Daily Show was over the minute after Jon Stewart’s departure. People continue to watch it our of morbid curiosity, I guess.

Full Frontal and Last Week Tonight are both miles better than modern TDS.

I saw some of the Daily Show writers + Trevor Noah’s comedy show this weekend. It was funny overall, but many of the jokes fell flat. Can’t say I’m surprised this tweet was posted, but it’s still disappointing.

I think a lot of writers probably left over the last year of the show, as various of the correspondents left to start their own shows I suspect they took a couple writers with them. However, I really like the group of correspondents this season, except Michelle Wolf. I don’t find her funny at all, but she’s not on that often.
