100% will watch. I find “escape from religion” stories endlessly fascinating. Her memoir was pretty good, too. A lot of explanation of day-to-day stuff which was just so interesting.

The thing I thought was most interesting was chatting how her treatment changed the more famous she became. When she was just an ordinary SeaOrg cadet, she got treated like crap just like everyone else but once she started becoming famous, they fawned and kissed her ass. Until she dared to treat Tom Cruise like a normal human being.

I used to live by a Scientology/Dynametrics (what’s it called?) centre. Every once in a while a group of people would stand across the street from it, holding signs that said things like “John Smith, your mother is dying, please call home!” and “Sue Mann, your little sister got married and had a baby, she wants you to meet your nephew!” and the signs had the families’ phone numbers on them. It was sooo sad.

Legit. I’m experiencing a new emotion: “worry for Leah Remini”.

I honestly think that with the more we find out about Scientology the less they can harm people with blackmail collected by their electrode confession things.(I forget what they’re called.) Maybe Leah sees that? I mean what would your average person confess to? Kinks, drug use, childhood experience? Stuff like that I guessing. What have the top dudes that Xenu likes best done to their followers? Slavery, embezzlement, stalking, manslaughter that we know of, perhaps even murder.

I think Leah will be okay, she’s past the point of their reach, she’s a celebrity and the truth about the religion is trickling out slowly so sane people will have eyes on her as well as those within. It’s hard to make someone disappear when they’re standing center stage.

*Edited because my autocorrect fucked up her name.

I’m down for any and all series that continue to tear down this awful, abusive cult. I might need to read her memoir, too.

It’s definitely worth a read. Her writing isn’t the strongest, but it’s full of interesting stuff and I came out of it with a hell of a lot of respect for her.

I actually really enjoyed the writing style because it felt honest. Not like a ghost writer. It’s not complex or flowery, but it feels like a conversation.

I will be very curious to see what network does this and in what genre. If it’s a drama or dramedy on a cable channel that has been producing good shows, that’s one thing. If it’s a laugh-track network sitcom? Hell no.

As always when there is a post on Scientology I feel compelled to recommend the podcast “Oh No! Ross and Carrie,” they did a fascinating 9 part investigation of the “church.”

That seems weird to me, tanning ages you and Hollywood is all about eternal youth. Which is obviously messed up.

Is my monitor malfunctioning, or is that tan for real? Seriously, is that a spray tan, a lot of bronzer, or does she have magical powers?

I’m Italian and by the end of summer people ask if I’m Indian. I apply kid-grade sunscreen, but I still get quite dark.

I’m convinced that this is a ploy to get sued and turn the trial coverage into the planned TV show. Saves on so much overhead.

Yes, he is. In her memoir, Leah is terrified she will lose Jennifer as a friend when she leaves Scientology; however, their friendship endures and Leah’s grateful and surprised that Jennifer was able and willing to stand by her.

I didn’t much care for Jennifer Lopez, but I really liked her after reading about her in Leah’s book. Especially the passage where she told Leah to,shit the fuck up because she is never going to end their friendship over Scientology.
