    Seriously fuck Nigel Farage.

Can we lock him and Trump in a room together and throw away the key?

The European Council/Parliament will have to vote on this. I wonder how easy they’re going to make it for the UK to leave. Could take a year. And in the meantime, Scotland will probably have another referendum, this time to leave and stay in the EU.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Brussels takes the track of making it as painful as possible, to dissuade other potential leavers, or or making it as easy as possible in the hopes that it’ll help return to stability.

The one small comfort here is that we don’t have the monopoly on stupid, tone -deaf, cowardly little men as our leaders.

Thought the same, and then realized that’s one situation where we’d probably be better off alone. Seriously, though, this vote has somehow brought it home that we really honestly could end up with Trump. I’ve known that intellectually, but my gut still keeps telling me to calm down and that it will never happen. This has made me realize that no, sanity doesn’t always win, and polls aren’t always right, and we could end up with a disaster, too.

Literally the only comfort I can find here is that next time I’m in a bar in the UK, I’ll have some fucking ammunition for that drunk guy who always wants to yell at me about US policies beyond “I didn’t vote for him!” (as was the case during the W. years, when these conversations happened to me all the time).

Nigel Farage is a moron. He campaigned for Brexit by saying that the UK would have an extra $350 million every year to spend on the NHS. Then, this morning, he said he can’t guarantee that and that it was a “mistake” to use it in Leave ads.

He had no power to make any promises at all, and over at the online watering hole of the interminably stupid some people are wondering why he isn’t being installed at Number 10 as we speak. It’s as if they think it was an election, not a referendum...

I actually thought that Cox’s murder at the hands of a pro-Brexiter would get people to vote to stay in droves. Silly me, thinking that women’s lives should be valued.

Farage is the leader of UKIP, a nationalist, racist, anti-immigration party who have made extraordinary gains in the last 5 years. So . . yes, you should be worried.

Me too. When I heard that Brexit passed this morning, my reaction was “Holy shit, this means Cheeto Jesus might win in November. Holy shit.” Time to start checking Canadian dating websites.

Dude. My husband is now an American citizen but was born in a former British colony that generally allows for easy (easier?) Canadian immigration. I think. Did he give up his former citizenship? Is there hope for us? Would I be able to glom onto his admittedly tenuous possible escape? I never had reason to look into all of the details, but maybe it’s fucking time!
