I am sitting here, at dawn, watching my country put worker’s rights, human rights, equality and protection for the disabled, and the UK economy on a bonfire, for the sake of some Union-jack-bunting “patriotism”, on the say-so of ghouls like Farage and Duncan-Smith. (Whatever happens next won’t touch them. They will never go hungry.)

If you’re THAT proud to be born British, it suggests you’ve done fuck-all else to be proud of, since being expelled from a birth canal. You probably shouldn’t have attempted something as complex as voting - you’ll ruin it for the rest of us.

I’m so ashamed of my country right now. This is naked Nationalism. I’m truly frightened.

I’m really interested to see the email all the non-UK students at my university (more than half the student body) get if this passes.

ETA: Also, I predict that if this passes, the next Scottish Independence vote will pass as well, because Scotland will pick the EU over the UK every time.

As much as I think Britain leaving the EU is a bad idea, the more the pound is devalued, the cheaper my tuition becomes.

Ugh, but if the food gets bad again in England, will it be worth the cheaper flights and hotels??

As a tourist? Yes. If food turned to shit in the UK again, that would just give me the excuse to spend the week gorging on cheese (which would likely still be better than it is in the US) I picked up at local markets during my hypothetical vacation. But if I lived there, then obviously the downturn in restaurant quality would be tragic.

Okay, so it’s early and I read that as being “meowed down” by a double decker bus. I imagined a kitty in a bus driver’s uniform and hat mrowling and hissing as he speeds past Farage, showering him with mud from the tires of a bright red double decker bus.

So my question is when will this effect the dollar to pound exchange rate (if it continues to drop)? Because I’m in love with a British company that makes adorable all-cotton dresses but they usually run £80-95 so yeah, that’s my main concern here.

It’s always times like these that I wish I had extra funds for investments, but then I remind myself - I’ll only be 30 later this year and I’ll see a shitload more crises to seek financial gain from and will surely have an unfortunately lengthy life thanks to all those god damned miracles of science. After seeing 2008/9, I’m absolutely positive of that. Until then, we’ll just keep plugging away!

And all that very winded bullshit was just to say GOOD LUCK! : )

If I was still in my 20s I’d be putting at least $100 a month into stocks. You will be blown away at how quickly it grows. Do yourself that little favor.

One of my dear friends spent ages getting her spousal visa (she was denied twice), and she is legitimately terrified since she finally is living in the UK with her hubby.

Bated. Not “baited!” Meaning the condition of waiting in anticipation- not meaning smelling like fish. The UK may have smelly breath, but it’s still bated.

You mean like the US did by loosening restrictions on lending? Or how Greece threatened the EU by failing to balance a budget and then having harsh austerity forced on them in exchange for monetary aide?

And then sent the US military overseas to force the world at gunpoint to buy mortgage-backed securities?

Who’s the brown-haired guy in the picture? He looks like a relative of mine and I’d love to share the photo (“Hey look! It’s you, but not!”), but it’d be a little weird without some kind of identifier. At least what his job is? The jacket probably should be cluing me in, but it isn’t. I don’t know what “GTS” means.
