    Get Well.

I haven’t spent all that much time in the City but I did have fantasies. Dress like Bill is out there was a good standard.

One of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken was this one. I snapped a picture of my friend (I’ve mostly cut her out of the image here bc I don’t know if she’d appreciate me posting her picture on the internet) and then we noticed that Bill Cunningham was in the background taking a picture.
I really hope he recovers quickly.

wishing him a speedy recovery. the best part of his documentary was watching the joy with which he does his job. there’s a beauty in finding where you’re supposed to be, doing what you’re supposed to do. can’t wait till he’s back on the streets with his camera again.

That documentary of his was wonderful. I can’t remember if it’s on Netflix or HBO, but either way, if you haven’t seen it, watch it! Bill is just so effing charming and truly of another era. I do feel sad for him though, he seemed to be struggling with his sexuality and therefore had never really had a close romantic relationship.

Love Bill Cunningham and wish him well. I use the Bill Cunningham documentary as a teaching tool. He’s better at (unintentionally) teaching Anthropological field methods than any Anthropologist I know, plus that whole thing is a goldmine teaching about social class, habitus, subcultures... Plus it’s just so fun!

This is my order of reading when I click on nytimes.com on Sunday mornings.

            1. Headline
            2. On the Street
            3. Sunday Xword
            4. Vows
            5. Everything else

            Get well soon Bill!!!

It isn’t possible to say how much I hope he recovers fully and quickly. Bill Cunningham is just one of the best. A treasure. A polestar.

My heart sank when I read the headline. I’m so glad he’s okay! I’ve watched that documentary at least three times and now I want to watch it again. I cry every time.

Get well soon, Bill! And pls never die because I don't think I can handle that kind of tragedy in my life.

Wow. I hope he recovers quickly, he is a great example of doing what you love, and doing it with excellence into your very golden years.

I have enjoyed his column and later, his videocasts since I developed my Sunday morning ritual of croissants, coffee and the NY times. I have friends who have seen him around NYC (much like what other commenters are describing) and have longed one day, to have him take my picture :)

Once Bill waved at me, but didn't snap a picture! It was a great day. I wish him all the best.
