lol at all these greys, as if they don’t know that (1) almost 50% of law graduates and 36% of current legal practitioners are women (http://www.americanbar.org/content/dam/ab...), (2) about 25% of law graduates are “minorities”, and (3) having a fair and representative judiciary should outweigh “but there aren’t that many of them in the field to begin with!!!”

After Orlando, the courthouse required all attorneys to go through the security line for a week. (Normally, we can bypass it with a sheriff-issued attorney ID.) The security lines are segregated by sex, and boy, that 36% figure above really played out in my favor. The men’s line was twice as long as the women’s line! Thanks, the patriarchy!

FOR ONCE, the patriarchy benefits women! However briefly!

66% female and 22% minority. Alright for WA. Also, Chief Justice is a woman AND Mary Yu is the first openly gay justice.

I don’t love Madsen’s jurisprudence, but just having a majority female, female-led court feels very important. Justices Gonzalez, Yu, and Gordon-McCloud all feel like big victories for progressivism at the state level as well.

I’m not surprised, same thing is with cops and other types of governmental jobs.

And I’m an Asian dude. Always a support but never a lead. #starringJohncho

I don’t know why, but this literally made me laugh harder than I’ve ever laughed in at least 10 years.

You better not be upset when Trump says that Mexican judges can’t be fair to him if you are going to turn around and say that white males cannot be fair to people of color and women in their trials.

Sure, that’s totally the same thing, what with the history of Mexicans oppressing white people in the U.S.

Trump didn’t say the judge couldn’t be fair to him because Trump is white, he said he couldn’t be fair to him because Trump “is building a wall.” The implication is that the judge is too allied with his Mexican heritage, just because he’s of Mexican heritage, to rule fairly, even though he was born and grew up in the US. That’s the difference.
