Serious question: is the GOP just inherently stupid?

The GOP has total control of 24 states (legislature and governor) compared to the Dems’ paltry 7 states.

The GOP controls the legislature in 31 states.

The GOP occupies the governor’s mansion in 31 states.

Of the 99 total state houses, the GOP controls 70.

Many GOP-controlled states have new laws that make it difficult or impossible to get an abortion, and that make it difficult for citizens to register and vote in ways that disproportionately impact the Democratic base.

The GOP controls both houses of Congress.

The Supreme Court had a conservative majority until Scalia died, and the GOP has successfully blocked the Democratic President from appointing a successor.

So, how stupid does the GOP look now?

      “just don’t change anything.”

This guy! This fucking guy! This is the same kind of douche who whines that Obama never would have been accepted to Columbia or Harvard without affirmative action, like that means Biff McWaspington from Marblehead, MA is doomed to a career at Jiffy Lube because some POC stole his spot in the Ivies.

Were President Obama eligible for a third term, we’d usher him back in the door so fast it would make the the gentleman from Iowa’s head spin.

Except putting Harriet Tubman on the 20 didn’t come from Obama. It was a competition started online, and when the organizers(can't remember their name) got such a huge response they sent a petition to the Obama administration. And seriously, people actually voted this moron into office? It’s mind boggling.

But of course they’ll blame anything they can on Obama. It’s like a knee-jerk reaction at this point. Sadly, Marco Rubio is not the only one who does this.

Boy if that isn’t the truth. It’s like a tick at this point, just automatic.

Many Republicans blamed Obama for Hurricane Katrina. Yes, the hurricane that occurred 3 years before President Obama was even in office. 29% of Louisiana Republicans blamed Obama vs. 28% blaming Bush. 44% said they were unsure who was more responsible.

      *correct me if i’m wrong*

It boggles the mind that this is the SAME party that voted overwhelmingly in favor of The Civil Rights Act of 1964. With more "yea" votes than the Democratic Party.

Since those same former Dems were recruited by Nixon in The Southern Strategy it makes the racist history a problem of both parties. I'm talking about the present. And yes, I'm sure that some Dems are bigoted. It's just a bigger problem across the aisle.

This is liberal activism on the part of the president that’s trying to identify people by categories, and he’s divided us on the lines of groups

Whereas when conservatives do activism against identities and groups, it’s to protect their girl-children from people they regard as perverts in dresses. And when they circle-jerk over a confederate flag, it’s Honoring Our History (of which Tubman features as a hero for anyone who isn’t a sourgrapes little shit).

This is a divisive proposal on the part of the president, and mine’s unifying. It says just don’t change anything.

Where “unifying” means ignoring the will of a majority of Americans.

Donald Trump, who called the move to put Tubman on the $20 bill “pure political correctness,” after which he suggested her image be used on the $2 bill.

So she’s worth a tenth of an objectively awful white man. This seems too generous for Trump. Has he even weighed in on her tits yet?

Maybe they would like to put Tubman on a new $12 bill. They could call it the 3/5 compromise.

Not as such, but I believe 19th Century Donald Trump said that escaped slaves were “thieves, rapists, and some, assumedly, are articulate people.”
