      what really scares me with these guys is they don’t give a flying fuck if the destruction is mutual. they’re so angry and unhinged that they’d sacrifice themselves just to get revenge. he’s (hopefully) ruined his own life (though not on the same level of ruination that he’s inflicted upon his ex and her son) with these charges, and i bet he does not give a shit.

    Now, Fox has been arrested in Washington state and charged with criminal harassment and “possession of firearms in an unauthorized location” by Canadian authorities. He appeared in court June 17.

    Any idea of what kind of time he’s facing?

      Up to ten years, but criminal harassment, especially online, is a crime that has only recently started to be treated seriously in Canada. Look up Rehtaeh Parsons’ case to see how incompetent and/or dismissive our police have been until just now. Or, don’t, and have a more pleasant morning.

    Emails posted on the site between Fox and his teenage son show him saying he would have “no qualms” about shooting and killing Capuano if it were legal. She says he has told her via email that his ultimate goal is to harass her into killing herself.

    But he couldn’t stick with his own plan and tried to sneak into the US to do it himself.

      Do not get me started on divorced parents badmouthing each other to the kids, I hate it! I once had to take a woman aside once to point out that her daughter was 50% her DNA and 50% her ex’s - the same ex she spent all of dinner bashing. Even after I said “How would you like to have a dinner where the topic of conversation is how much half you of is garbage?” she didn’t quite get it. So later I talked to her daughter and advised her not to take her mom’s anger personally, all the stuff her mom said about her dad was not directed at her. I hope it worked.

    “Stripper” is a stupid insult. It’s an easy job and it pays well. Any guy who tries to get grabby gets shown the door by a giant bouncer who makes sure he never comes back. I know several women who don’t have college loans to pay off because they were good at pole dancing.

      It’s not even that easy. There’s conventional jobs that take less effort (I guess it’s relative, but I’m thinking call-center kinds of stuff), and you don’t pay your way through college without putting in time and getting good.

      Seriously, though, fuck this guy. And fuck B.C. prosecutors, for whom terms like “cautious”, “inert”, and “without foresight” could have been invented. From the earlier Jezebel article:

      Canadian prosecutors discussed charging Fox with criminal harassment but ultimately decided not to, in part, they told the news outlet, because the exes live in different countries and thus Capuano couldn’t reasonably have an “objective fear” for her personal safety.

      Haven’t they ever heard it’s a small world? Well, I hope now they have enough evidence to do something, but I don’t guarantee it.
