    Not to make light of the horrific crimes he stands accused of, but what the fuck is a “Christ figure?” And just how does being one naturally lead to raping pubescent girls? Because Jesus had sex with young girls? I mean, look. I know all the obvious answers to these questions. They’re not deep or revelatory queries. But fundamental religions sure have a wildly perverse and self loathing obsession with sex, don’t they? BTW: That piece of shit rapists arrest picture screams coke, meth, or both.

      Did you like? What did you think? I’m still thinking about it a few days after I finished it. I thought her writing was GORGEOUS and I remain haunted by the ending (trying not to spoil anything).

    What are the issues with castration for a case like this? I feel like jail isn’t a satisfactory punishment. Is it a viable option? Does it work to stop men like this or their tendencies?

    Is the threat of it a deterent?

      It doesn’t work. Rapists get off on power and control, not sex, so if they can’t use their dicks they’ll just use something else. See the Vanderbilt case for an example. As for a deterrent to other would-be abusers - possible, but unlikely. Child sex abusers already face near-universal loathing and the threat of prison violence if they get caught and they still can’t keep their rapey selves in check.

        He only lived one county away from me in MN. I’m so glad they were able to extradrite him-he probably thought he was safe in his nice little beach condo with the new girl (at least he was with an age-appropriate one for the time being)

          Except that the woman he was found with was one of his former “maidens”, at least according to the linked article. And it makes me so sad that someone would be contacted by their abuser so many years later. Who knows what further horror she had to endure?
