    I’m a PR person for politicians. Reiterating empirical statements as a way to avoid a question is a pretty weak way of getting out of certain line of questioning.

      It’s difficult no doubt. You’ve got two options.

      1) Don’t work for something/someone you don’t believe in.

      2) Give a supportive answer that reflects Trump’s/the party platform...if such a thing exists. Anything less and you give dumb answers like this one. Anything less and you show cracks in the party, which is too late I guess.

    Even my dad, a life-long conservative, is so disgusted by the RNC these past couple of years that he is planning to disenfranchise himself for the first time in nearly 6 decades.

      Yeah - my dad was telling me today he has decided to register as an independent (he didn’t vote in a primary or anything). I don’t think he’s been anything other than a registered Republican his whole life. I realize that doesn’t mean he’s not voting for Republicans, but the fact that he would change that integral part of his identity is telling.

      And he’s a huge dickbag about politics (among other things). He told me once that he thinks people’s vote should be proportional to the amount of taxes they pay. WTF dad?

      Ugh he’ll probably decide he’s libertarian.

      My father, 75 this week, is disgusted with the rnc as well but he’s still of the Ken Starr vintage, his neck veins still flare, face red, flustered, after more than a few minutes of me trying to explain that “madam president” is imminent. So I don’t do that anymore. He has me , his gay son, a gay step daughter, a son in law he digs. How he is holding on to that sinking ship baffles. I think having Fox News on, loud, in 2 rooms at once, in small apartment, isn’t helping.
