I suspect that the time for “Amelie” as a musical has passed. The age of Twee Yuppie Indie—which is the ideal music for this show—is long, long over.

Agree. Not a great idea. Maybe it will be a terrific show but the odds don’t look good.

I know nothing about Hello, Dolly! beyond the bits featured in WALL·E, but you know how excited I’d be to see David Hyde Pierce on stage?

      About that excited.

I saw him in Spamalot, he was way too good for that show.

Eliza is soooo not boring, but *whispers* Phillipa Soo was the most underwhelming actor in the show for me.

It’s hard to stand out in a show like Hamilton, but “Burn” is an absolutely amazing song.

This led me down a rabbit hole of looking at the Ahmanson’s 2016/2017 season and now I'm probably going to buy season tickets and I already bought season tickets for the Pantages and I think I might have a problem. But seriously. It's a really good season.

I have season tickets for the Pantages, and honestly if getting from the westside didn’t take 18 hours, I would probably be in the same boat re: Ahmanson. It’s such a good season.

Ha, I’m actually on the Westside myself, but work downtown (thank god for the expo line!), so it’s extremely tempting.

Amelie’s one of my all-time fave movies...but if I were going to make a musical out of a Jeunet film, it would be City Of Lost Children or Micmacs.

If Hamilton falls apart, ticket prices might plunge to as little as $1500 each!

It should also be noted that they’re going to film two performances before LMM et al leave so cross your fingers for a DVD at a future date.

My guess is a limited run in movie theaters. I’d be shocked if they released it on DVD while it was still on Broadway.

Hijacking to say I finally watched the Tonys like 2 days ago cuz I DVR’d it and I fucking SOBBED at the performance of “She used to be mine” from the Waitress musical. It was the first time I had heard any of the music from it.

But the 1970s version of Montmarte that never really existed was such an important part of Amélie. How are they going to reproduce that on stage?
