Honest question: Is this a campaign finance story, a hack story, is there a scandal here I am not seeing?

Should be a simple hack story, but as usual, the coverup becomes the story. The DNC lied, now it’s a scandal.

The campaign finance stuff isn’t even a crime anymore. Hillary and the DNC figured out how to get around those pesky rules without technically breaking the law. And ‘technically not illegal’ is probably as good as you can get with this crew.

I think its hack story another look at how irresponsible organizations and businesses are with peoples personal information and the constant attack by foreign terrorists and how unprotected we as Country are with that data and with even more sensitive info.

Though it may turn into the other 2 stories depending on whats all in there.

the hackers appear to be in possession of a large number of spreadsheets rife with names, cell phone and office numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, occupations, and contribution histories of hundreds, if not thousands, of Democratic donors.

Oh my god, the Federal Election Commission also appears to be in possession of large amounts of this information — and is making it publicly available on the Internet!

Seems possible that this could have been generated from a public download from the FEC’s website and then manipulated with cell phone numbers.

Came to say the same thing. Only new thing here is wealthy people like suites and big beds when attending donor meetings. Who knew?!

The DNC lied? Shocking, utterly shocking. On the bright side, now I can find out if any of my neighbors are stupid rich.

Honestly, I’m inclined to believe that the adage “Don’t attribute to malice what is likely incompetence” in this story. Already the comments are spinning about a cover up, but it’s more likely that at the time weren’t technologically savvy enough to realize that that information was stolen as well.

that’s still a bad sign. The DNC and the Clinton campaign in general seems to be filled with incompetents.

    And Saudi links?

    Or Clinton Global Initiative?

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has some ‘splaining to do. though in all fairness, after her gimme to the check-cashing industry, this smalls like the ripe finger of Karma.

I wonder if my $50 contibution to Hillary in ‘08 is there somewhere? I’ve since given up giving any money to campaigns as the relentless phone calls and mail I have received since then has turned me off of the pracitce.

Contrary to DNC Claim, Hacked Data Contains a Ton of Personal Donor Information

...and that makes you hard as fuck - that is, if that is possible naturally, anymore. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
