Personally, I hate PETA for hipocritcally killing shelter animals: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/05/pet...

But yeah, there’s a lot of reasons.

Sigh. Now we’re being compared to chickens? Wut?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for animal rights. But I’m an omnivore. I’m anti-zoos and using animals for entertainment purposes. But now we’re comparing the violence against women to.... chickens?

Also... some of the feminist instagram accounts keep saying that vegetarian or veganism is now a feminist issue

    Sigh.

Lets all agree to only eat Cuban Sandwiches this week so we are eating pork and chicken in equal measure. Also, so we don’t discriminate against pickles.

I ate the last of the garlic dills one night and had to be reasoned with not to drive 25 minutes to Walmart to get more. A house without pickles and peanut butter is not a home.

2/10, and I’m being enormously generous here.

I know there’s no bad free publicity, but at this point it’s not even funny anymore, PETA is clearly trolling for headlines, and being damn lazy at it.

They are very efficient at making generally important / meaningful things (animal rights and welfare) seem completely stupid and ridiculous.

    I hate PETA.

It’s true. Which is very unfortunate.

It really doesn’t seem to me like they were always this crazy. I remember them being anti-fur, protesting the poor treatment of food, zoo, circus, and research animals, and generally being an organization I could get behind. I didn’t agree that no one should eat animals ever, but I was and remain in favor of minimizing consumption thereof. On the whole, their causes were just, in my view.

Then... I don’t know what happened. They lost all perspective at some point. And just never got it back.

Yeah like I really would not be opposed to a group that was committed to a kind of “radically” humane platform; like that cultural voice is something we need I think.

But radical is one thing—bonkers (and hypocritical, tbh) is another.

The food chain? Please. So I guess you are applauding that alligator in Florida for killing that two-year old then? After all, it's just the food chain. You can criticize PETA (and many of us in the animal rights community do), but resorting to something as lame as "it's the food chain" is hardly worth publishing. That's the best you've got? I just unfollowed Jezebel in my feed. Enough of this crap.

Obviously, no one is applauding the alligator, but they’re certainly not criticising it either because it was only acting in accordance with its nature. Making this kind of analogy helps your cause about as much as PETA does.
