Yes, his disability affects his balance, not his decision making. The only point of this was to try and gain some sympathy.

And his whole career was based on overcoming his disability, not on relying upon sympathy.

Also the whole trying to use anxiety disorder as part of his excuse?! I have an anxiety disorder; it doesn't mean I try to kill my roommates when they get back home late at night and startle me.

Acting in self defense of what? The girlfriend he didn’t even check to see if she was in bed, before shooting into adjoining the bathroom at a random noise?

What’s telling to me is that his girlfriend had the bathroom door locked. If you get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, do you even close the door let alone lock it?

She was scared and hiding from him.

Why are his attorneys still beating to death that fake narrative about self defense? The neighbor heard Reeva scream, then gunshots.

...maybe he was deaf at the time of the murder, too? Look, more disabilities! Not only does he have no feet, but he can’t even hear!

Because they’re his defense team and that’s his only defense. Of course they’re going to beat it to death.

I couldn’t find a full collection from a quick googling, but one of the podcasts I listen to (Real Crime Profile) just started their analysis of the case and read a bunch of them in the first episode. Laura Richards, a domestic violence expert, is one of the hosts and really breaks it down how toxic he was.

I’m disappointed that he didn’t throw his leg like Aviva did in Real Housewives of New York.

What a manipulative, transparent..yet smart! move. Can we expect the defense not to use this angle?

I just got finished with 6 months of treatment for Stage II breast cancer and I am bald and one-breasted. When I want things to go pleasantly for me in the outside world, I simply do not wear my wig. (I don’t have any energy for confrontation or foolishness right now.) People see the Cancer Lady and are much nicer than they would be if I showed up all cute in my wig.

I honestly don’t recall, and maybe I watch too much CSI, but didn’t investigators / couldn’t investigators tell from the angles of bullet entry whether or not Pistorius was wearing his prosthetics at the time or not? If the angles showed a taller assailant that could put this whole he was the vulnerable one myth to rest.

Yeah, they can tell. I do believe they presented evidence that showed he wasn’t wearing them. But regardless, the whole self defense argument is just so moot because he didn’t check if she was in bed.

He walked without his prosthetics during the actual trial for the defense and he was still found guilty so I really don’t understand why they think him doing it during sentencing is going to help anything.

I think it’s fine that he removed his prosthetic legs to better give an idea of the night in question. But they should also give him a gun. Because he also had a fucking gun.

Through this whole trial I have not for one second believed anything the defense has said. His wobbling reminds me of OJ trying on the blood- soaked gloves and proclaiming that they didn’t fit. Sure.

My friend’s young son had a similar condition and amputation of both legs. He’s surprisingly nimble when he goes about the house without his prosthetics. I also found this a little ... unconvincing. (Funny kid - my favorite story was when he was at the beach and a kid asked him what happened to his legs. He stared off at the water and said dramatically, "Sharks ... on this very beach..." His mom had to quickly step in before the other kid ended up with a lifelong ocean phobia.)

I had a friend in highschool with a prosthetic leg. She was hilarious. It was never a disability, but a thing to make jokes with. We would pull pranks on one of our teacher’s with it, if people were being rude or annoying she’d take it off and hit them over the head with it. She was just OK with it. We never considered her as being disabled or someone to be pitied - she was awesome and could kick people across the room by throwing her leg at them.

It’s sick to me that he’s begging for pitty and pulling this woe is me shit. He is a grown ass man, he is wealthy, he is an athlete and he is for some reason trying to prove that he’s not fully physically capable? How many athletes would ever do that? It’s just disgraceful.
