So, they’re all totes against racism, but sexism is alive and well in the SBC. They’ve completely fallen into the complementarianism philosophy.

It must be nice, having his own little world to live in, totally unbothered by what is happening in the place we call “reality”

As someone formerly brainwashed by the southern baptist church, they can go fuck themselves. We should keep in mind that even if they’re sincere in wanting to embrace their “african-american brothers and sisters,” they’re still going to be subjugating women. I hate them with a fiery passion.

Leaving the Baptists was one of the nicer things I ever did for myself. Personally, this flag “discouraging” costs them literally NOTHING. Churches don’t have to comply, any church still using that flag in this day and age likely won’t. That they came to this conclusion in 2016....2016...20-fucking-16, straddles the fence between ridiculously shameful and “well, finally, y’all”.

I’d like to see all Rebel Flags replaced with the Greendale Flag. They both were in use for the same amount of time & the Greendale Flag is clearly the superior Flag.

“The Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination...”

The Anglican Communion’s 85 million members might disagree, or even just the CoE’s 28 million members.

“Though the resolution is nonbinding, member churches generally abide.”

The Dude does as well, even if the Confederate Flag really brings the room together.

If your church was started as a break away from a larger church because your church was pro-slavery you should go out of business. Sell all the assets, pay all the debts, give the remainder to the poor.

Churches aren’t businesses. Most individual congregations barely make enough money to stay open.

That would be almost all the Protestant Churches in the South.

I work directly with churches and am curious what my colleagues in the South have to say on this. Hopefully it’s better than the recent gun propaganda they’re spouting on social media pages after Orlando. You can’t always choose your coworkers, folks.

I swear, conservatives in this country are never more willing to ignore Bible verses than they are to forget that whole “beat your swords into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks” thing they are supposed to aspire to. Except maybe the passages about leaving the eunuchs alone. Or that abortion ritual. Or that “give up all you have” thing. Now that I think about it, I don’t really know much that they do that could qualify as “Christ-like.”

I mean, it is easy to be nice to black people after you have driven them all out of your church.
