When Trump’s campaign got started, many media outlets were kicking around the idea of simply denying him coverage — ignoring him the same way you might ignore a toddler’s temper tantrum. They believed that if they ignored Trump he would go away due to lack of attention. A few others had a similar idea in which they would cover Trump only in the entertainment section — trying to marginalize him by not putting him in the same category as ‘real’ politicians like Ted “Bundy” Cruz, Ben Carson, and Rick “Santorum” Santorum.

None of these ideas really went anywhere, of course, but it’s interesting to see now that Trump is trying to blacklist really large newspapers. A campaign could probably get away with blacklisting one Gawker writer — they shouldn’t but they *could* — but waging war with national papers like the Washington Post and even the Des Moines Register which I believe it the biggest paper in the state really should hurt Trump’s operation.

Of course, this is just one of the many many things that should hurt Trump’s operation but haven’t such as:

    * the stuff he says about the Chinese, military veterans and POWs, Mexicans, Jews, women, Muslims, Iowa Republicans, people who poop (aka all human beings),
    * his pissing matches with Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Megyn Kelly, Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Mitt Romney, and Paul Ryan
    * the stuff he says about his daughter
    * the time he said that he wanted to pit nine blacks against nine whites on his reality show
    * that creepy John Miller voicemail thing
    * that one time he said that Ted Cruz’s dad killed Kennedy (although he might be onto something...)

    * the times he told people in the audience at his rallies to beat the crap out of protestors

    * the time he fled from a debate to avoid having to face a reporter who asked him a mildly difficult question one time

    * the time he tried to swindle charities that support veterans and threw a tantrum when he got caught and had to donate the money

*the time he sent a team of people to Hawaii to investigate Obama’s background and then refused to reveal the report

    * that one time he said that Hillary Clinton killed Foster
    * that time his ex-wife accused him of beating and raping her
    * the time he accused a federal judge of being incapable of trying his case because he is Mexican American (aka the stuff he says about people from Indiana)
    * the Trump University fiasco
    * every other business fiasco he has ever been in, including Trump Steaks, Trump Airlines, Trump Magazine etc.
    * the time he said that women who have abortions should go to jail

    * the time(s) he has used the immediate aftermath of a massacre to gloat about how he was right (such as Paris, San Bernadino, and Orlando)

In light of this, I think his campaign will be unharmed.

No, only HuffPo did those things, both of them. Ironically, they have not been banned.

“This news outlet has been saying false and dishonest things about my campaign. What should I do about that? I know! Let’s PUNISH them by making it harder and more difficult to find out the truth and make them hate me even MORE by denying them an ability to see first hand what my GOOD and RIGHT campaign is about!”

I mean that is some iron-clad logic right there, folks.

Trump’s logic doesn’t need to be iron-clad. It only needs to have originated in his cfc soaked brain for it to be infallible. After all, we don’t get to be graced with such a huge, classy, totally great logic such as his every generation.

The Onion doesn’t need to be present to get the facts right when it comes to Trump.

Sounds like he’s taking a page from the Peter Thiel handbook: “If a news outlet makes your asshole pucker, let it eat at your insides until you can’t think of anything except how much you hate people, information, and democracy.”

    I’m paraphrasing.

He’s suing October for half a billion dollars?

I hear October is declaring bankruptcy and courting Ziff Davis and April as possible acquirers.

So I guess if he’s elected president, he’ll ban Ken Burns documentaries from television?

I agree with him in theory, but have our presidential elections always featured qualified candidates? I mean, we elected Andrew Jackson. And Grant, who (god bless him) was never good at anything that wasn’t labelled “civil war.” And ole “Fainting Frank” Pierce. And that’s not even counting people who didn’t actually win (looking at you, George “Segregation Forever” Wallace).

Is being denied credentials the same as having them revoked? I mean, if I turn down the guy at the bar, I’m just denying him entry. If, on the other hand, I know him and have let him have access in the past, but am now telling him to go fuck himself, I’m revoking his access (to my vagina. I’m talking about my vagina.).
