      YUP! I get the same impression, she just seems like an overly sarcastic asshole who uses it as an excuse to be an asshole. "I'm just kidding, GOD!!" And Tig Notaro is pretty incredible and genuinely funny, not just jokey funny but a funny person. This is not at all surprising

    Not terribly surprising that someone thinks Amy Schumer is an asshole, but the fact that Notaro got so visibly upset instead of playing the whole thing off with a joke indicates a helluvalot more than mere prickly feelings.

    Dead curious about what Schumer did/said now...

    Wait - WHAT????? They LIVED TOGETHER and Amy was referring to her as best bud - no really, the first season of writing for the show, a few of the writers lived together in an apartment. I feel like we could all google this. Sooo WTF - aslo, Tig in her comedy act has done a bit on people calling her “SIR” so yeah, I think she knows she comes off as masculine. Hmmmmm, this smells.

      When you live with someone, there are all sorts of opportunities to really irritate one another, if not make an enemy for life. Amy Schumer may have been “that” roommate. Notaro’s discomfort with Schumer may be based more on living with Schumer than on her recent comments.

      re: “masculine”—she has a show called “boyish girl interrupted”. i can understand her being like “hey now, don’t speak for me” but she makes jokes about how she is boyish/androgynous reasonably often that I could see if someone was friendly with her they could think it is ok for them to do it too... i guess Amy just doesn’t know her as well as she thought she did to know that its only cool when she (Tig) does it.

    There are more important places to direct my outrage today than at 2013 Amy Schumer. Shitty thing to say, probably came from a pretty good place. Tig’s reaction to it was flawless, measured, spontaneous, honest. They’re obviously not friends but they’re two cool ladies who don’t work together anymore so let’s just leave it at that?
