    When my husband heard people at the Broadway show sometimes sob during the entire performance, he couldn’t understand why. Well. I cried watching this. This is one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack, and it’s not like there are many video clips out there of it. If I ever get lucky enough to win the lottery for “Hamilton” I will be the pregnant asshole in the front row crying the entire show. (Especially during ‘Wait for It’)

      I hope you get to see it! I was lucky enough to be the new mother in the back row sobbing through the entire* show a few months ago. I was worried that it couldn’t possibly meet the expectations that hundreds of listens through the cast album had raised, but it easily exceeded them. Keep entering the lottery!

      *Okay, crying through 20% of it, laughing through tears of delight while clapping like a deranged infant through another 75%, and outright ugly sobbing during Stay Alive (Reprise) and It’s Quiet Uptown. (Sorry, people sitting next to and in front of me.)

    The Tonys this year were great. Vibrant, full of energy, respectful and somber about what happened in Orlando, diverse winners, excellent speeches, etc. I could go on and on but I think it’s been a while where I can say the Tonys has been the best awards show of the year so far.

      It was an excellent broadcast. I’ve been looking forward to it all week, but didn’t know if I had the heart for it this evening. I’m glad I watched it. All the performances were great, and the speeches were really from the heart (as opposed to just being a recitation of names).

      I agree! While I’ll be sad if Leslie Odom Jr dips before then, a fresh cast will be a new breath of life into this show. The current cast has been living and breathing this for 3 years! It’ll be great to see a new energetic cast :)
