Remember: Words are magic. Unless you say the specific words, “Islamic terrorism,” you won’t activate the code for the special America power-up and good luck fighting the boss without it.

Ugh, ISIS is such a glitch too. They’re worse than the jetbike level in Battletoads, and that’s not an insult I throw around lightly.

When will Obama do the right thing and issue an executive order that converts Dylan Roof, James Holmes, and Adam Lanza into Muslims?

Well, that didn’t take long. I guess the investigation can close now.

Next up: “If those people hadn’t insisted on being gay none of this would have happened.” and “The Gays are inciting terrorism.”

How the fuck do we live in a world where some phantasm concept like “political correctness” seems like MORE of a threat than a material weapon that shoots metal into people’s bodies.

The tragic thing is that these same people decrying “political correctness” are the ones screaming for legislation that oppresses LGBT people. Today, they speak about this tragedy with faux grief (and blame Obama because why not?). Tomorrow they are rallying for laws to limit where a trans person can pee and poop.

As Obama said, he can put ISIS sympathizers on no-fly lists, but Republicans freak out should he create a list of American ISIS sympathizers who can’t buy guns.

The only “politically incorrect” thing that could have prevented this attack is to systematically strip Muslim Americans of their constitutional rights. Put them on a registry, make them wear identifying badges, put them in camps. That is the politically incorrect Final Solution to the Muslim Problem.

WHICH WE DO NOT DO BECAUSE THIS IS AMERICA, YOU BIGOTED FUCK.

This is exactly the kind of comment (the analyst, not you) that I spoke about in another thread. This tragedy will be hijacked by the far right if we don't keep the focus where it belongs. This is about a guy who is homophobic and had access to an assault weapon. Muslim is simply an element of it, and the least important one.

You can draw a pretty clear analogue between this guy (and the Bakersfield shooters), and the wingnut who shot up Planned Parenthood in the name of Jesus.

They’re acting independently, and they’re trying to stir shit to provoke a bigger battle. You might be able to call them a symptom of something bigger, but they’re not actually part of the organization.

100,000 guys rampaging through the desert cutting people’s heads off, causing wars in multiple countries, murdering and raping, and coordinating terror attacks all over world vs..... a single guy who shot some people at a Planned Parenthood. Yeah you’re right, that’s a pretty clear analog.

ISIS bears as much relation to Islam as the Spanish Inquisition did to Christianity. In both cases, religion was only there to rationalize atrocity.

If it comes out that this guy was actually working with ISIS’ command and control, and that he trained with them, I’ll walk back my comparison otherwise, but in these early hours of the investigation he seems to have no more involvement with ISIS as an organization than the Bakersfield shooters did.
