I think what’s likely to happen is that Gary Johnson will go up in the polls over the course of the next month as Trump continues to say racist/misogynistic/other offensive things, and that we’ll unfortunately be treated to a “reasonable” discussion of libertarian values as Republicans switch allegiances. Which is scary because Libertarians are also particularly insane and even worse for the economy than their tea party activist friends.

Johnson will shroud the lunacy in the cloak of his liberal social viewpoints (and some disaffected liberal voters will fall for it), forgetting that his party’s platform would like us to return to the economic policy of the late 19th century.

Hillary will get in the mid 40s to low 50s, Trump in the 30s, and Johnson will likely fall in the teens. She’ll have a Lyndon B. Johnson type electoral map victory.

“Libertarian” is just a fad. It’s a “romantic” way of saying conservative. They are one and the same. People call themselves such to try to appear more intelligent. They are simplistic fucktards like conservatives.

A political party that’s been around for a half a century is somehow a “fad?” Huh. Funny, but this entire comment reads like someone who doesn’t even remotely understand the Libertarian party platform.

Clinton is going to fuck him up. And if he keeps it up, we might retake the House. I can’t belive the GOP is actually to let this fuckwit burn their party to the ground. Fucking glorious.

I’m more optimistic about the house and senate but don’t assume anything about the general at this point. Needs to be a high turnout election.

Trump is going to get crushed. I heard the same doom and gloom shit in ‘12. It isn’t happening. You cannot win the presidency without women and a decent share of the Hispanic vote. And trust me on this one, there are a whole bunch of Republican women who aren’t voting for that fuckstick.

This must be a new definition of ‘interracial family’ of which I wasn’t previously aware.

He did adopt a child of a different race. From wiki

“They have three children, including an adolescent son and daughter, and a daughter adopted from Ethiopia after French returned from active duty in Iraq.”

We should focus our attention on ridiculing him for always, ALWAYS, bringing up his service in Iraq. It seems that he may have done it for the wrong reason.

So what is the Gawker media mandate for Trump posts per hour? Or is this just a long lesson in how Trump gets free media coverage?

That’s not fair. You can lay that charge against the “Trump has no idea what his campaign is doing” story, but the two stories today are:

Presidential nominee implicated in potential fraud with Florida AG

Presidential nominee accused of threatening another candidate

Those are pretty compelling stories. The fact that both are about Trump doesn’t negate their validity as stories.

If it were any other year, I would say that there is no way that the front runner of a major party would bother to threaten a nobody blogger who only started considering a run after it was too late to get on the ballot in most states. Such a thing would be preposterous even from a purely amoral, pragmatic POV. There is next to nothing that French could do between now and the convention other than embarrass himself. The only person who even wants him to run is Bill Kristol, who is at this point clearly running an experiment to see if it is possible to be totally wrong *more than* 100% of the time.

But this is the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump is the presumptive nominee, and *anything can happen*. It’s a slow motion plane wreck, people, and there are no seat belts or vomit bags. We’re living in a movie written by M. Night Shamyalan, directed by David Lynch, and choreographed by Michael Bay. I fully expect Kung fu battles and dinosaur rampages at the conventions.

This was the guy Billy Kristol wanted to run for President???? He has all the charisma of a kidney stone.

Kristol shouldn’t be listened to in any circumstance. If he came inside and was soaked, I’d still look outside if he told me it was raining.
