    Have you seen the letter to the judge on behalf of his rape apologist friend Leslie Rasmussen? It's all boys will be boys, and college is to blame, and the victim should not be blamed but...then she goes on to blame the victim and talk about real rape vs. college rape, and how she knows him better than anyone and he's innocent and doesn't deserve what's being done to him. She puts his father's letter to shame in the fuckery department, and I didn't know anyone could sink lower. Leslie sure as shit did. And she submitted a photo from them in high school, because that's totally relevant to him being a rapist in college.

      Rasmussen’s letter is so bad that upon first read, I thought for sure it wasn’t real. Couldn’t be. Right?

      People like her make me rethink my objections to misogynistic slurs invoking female body parts. Clueless bitch. Sex without the absence of consent is rape. And a person who is unconscious cannot consent. Whether the attacker and the victim know each other is immaterial. If she doesn’t consent, it’s fucking rape. How does a grown woman (or man) not understand that?

    If you can’t control your actions while under the influence, don’t drink.

      True. But he did sentence a rapist to 1/4 of the recommended minimum sentence because he didn’t think the fact that he raped someone should have a negative effect on his life. He did make it crystal clear, not just to the victim of this rape but to rape victims everywhere, that he holds rapists in considerably higher esteem than rape victims. And he did tell rapists everywhere that even if they are caught mid-rape by multiple witnesses, they don’t have to worry about facing real jail time.

      Brock Turner violated one woman, which is disgusting and depraved and should not be made light of. But the judge denigrated rape victims and emboldened rapists in general. I don’t know if that’s “worse,” but I’m pretty fucking comfortable putting it on the same level.

    He still looks like a generic white boy. A slightly disheveled and possibly drunk generic white boy, but I guess this isn’t quite the smoking gun everyone was waiting for. If anything though, he looks like he was pretty sober, sober enough to know an unconscious girl was in no position to consent to sex.

      He was caught in the act, so the mugshot was never going to be a smoking gun. It was only weird that the mugshot hadn’t been released, because it was yet more evidence that the authorities have done everything they can to make this guy as comfortable as possible and to present him in the most cosmetically palatable ways in the press.
