“and that he will “never be his happy go lucky self [sic]” again.”

Neither will be the woman he raped.

Was coming here to say the same thing. Seriously, he’s talking about how his poor, precious pumpkin won’t ever enjoy steak again?

I for one wouldn’t mind enjoying this father and son on a dinner plate...

“By having people like Brock educating others on college campuses is how society can begin to break the cycle of binge drinking and its unfortunate results.” - holy shit, does he really think the only lesson anyone should take away from this is not to binge drink??? How about DON’T RAPE

It’s been said before, but I’ll say it again - a woman binge drinking alone in a locked room doesn’t wake up the next morning to find out that she was raped while unconscious.

That’s all the son thinks he did wrong too. He blames binge drinking and sexual promiscuity. Wonder where he got that.

I just don’t get this whole “alcohol made me do it” thing. I’ve been drunk before. And guess what? I wasn’t tempted to rape someone. Didn’t even cross my drunk mind. Is that not how it works for most people?

20 minutes out of a life is actually a really long time to violate someone when you consider that you can kill in seconds. Time isn’t indicative of harm.

I was just thinking the same thing! What if someone stole his identity with a few keystrokes and voided his bank account in a matter of seconds? What if someone stalked around his house and took things of value in 15 minutes? What if a gun was fired and shot him in the head in a matter of seconds? 20 minutes can be hell on earth. If we’re going to take the time it takes to commit a crime into play, then justice will be very different, won’t it? This guy is disgusting.

I remember when Irreversible came out and people were horrified about having to watch ten minutes of the one-take graphic rape of Monica Bellucci. It was awful and incredibly upsetting; I barely managed to sit through it.

Where is that outrage now? For a real case that lasted twice as long? It’s nowhere. Because that’s how our society fails us.

I guess it’s only monstrous when the camera forces you on to the side of the victim; the default is to side with the rapist.

But but but it was a “wafer thin mint” of a rape. Hardly worth getting upset about! She didn’t even feel it! Fair game no backsies!

This man has such a juvenile, hateful mind.

Oh yeah, the dad is definitely a rapist. 100%.

One of the things that’s been the most difficult for me in processing and healing my own trauma is that I *know* the perpetrator doesn’t think he did anything wrong—there are so many mental gymnastics and cognitive dissonance, and disavowals of responsibility that let untold numbers of rapists think of themselves as “good guys.”

Gee, I can’t imagine how this guy thought raping someone was ok with a father like that. Clearly he grew up learning how to take responsibility for his actions, among other lessons on how to be a decent human being.

Do truly “happy-go-lucky” types drag girls behind dumpsters to rape them? I would assume such folks would want happy sex with happy consenting partners in happy places. Not unhappy-go-unluckily dragging an unconscious girl behind a trash bin to pump on her for 20 minutes.

(Actually, did the “20 minutes” of “action” include the dragging the girl to the dumpster?)

20 Minutes. My rapist took only about 15. That was >40 years ago, and I’ve never forgotten. These rapists think they are blameless. It only took 20 minutes, why is the rest of my life in ruins. BECAUSE THE REST OF MINE IS RUINED. POS

The above mentioned two men are not men (well, biologically they are, but should pschycologically have been held to a higher standard).

Instead they are whiney, self entitled asshole bastards who have never been held accountable for their actions, I sincerely hope they enter a phase of internet shitstorm.

Also, I weep for You, I hope that one day You can get back at the asshole that has damaged You physically and mentally, and teach him (lowercase) the error of his ways.

Many of my close, female friends have had to deal with these kinds of backward, casual, behaviours and actions. Us men should be raised better. After all, a penis is just a penis, it enables you to pee while standing, it doesn’t infer rights...

      Rant off...

Takes a lot less than 20 minutes to kill someone, and you don’t see murderers trying to pull this excuse.

Life can change in an instant and if that instant is you raping someone, the rest of your life should not continue on as it was before.

Perhaps the father who raised this piece of shit human should have spent at least 20 minutes teaching his child that rape is a crime. Perhaps he should have spent 20 minutes explaining to his son that his boner and hormones do come before the life of another person. Fuck, is there is no limit to Our societies disdain for women

This Turner guy may have only spent 20 minutes assaulting his victim before he was interrupted, but I can guarantee you it took 20 years to get him to be the type of loser to think it was ok. Thanks, dad.
