I had so many good things happen to me this morning, and then this happened.

I really really hope they record it for PBS with him in it...I don’t need to see it live, but I do want to see it with this cast.

That’d be neat! It’s always fun stumbling upon something like that on PBS.

Ditto. I don’t know why they don’t do that more often. My DVD copies of the original cast Broadway productions of Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George are among my most treasured! And I had the 10th Anniversary concert edition of Les Mis on VHS (recorded off PBS) for yeeeeaaaars before I got the CD and DVD. I AM WILLING TO PAY MONEY. PLEASE TAKE IT. Also, why can’t they do the thing they do with the opera where they live broadcast it into a movie theater? I’ll pay $60 to see Hamilton that way and you open it up to a wider audience. Why is this not a thing?

Every day I enter that fucking lotto, me and 10,000 other people. I actually cried a little when I realized that I forgot to do it on Tuesday because I was sick. At least he is doing his best to do right by his fans though, he's filming a doc, does the ham4hams, wrote a fucking tome about the thought that went into the show, and tweets CONSTANTLY, fingers crossed the original cast does a video recording.

I have alerts set on my fitbit to buzz me to remind me to enter. My schedule has changed dramatically and now I can only enter for 2 shows a week!

A couple of people here have won the lottery, so at least it’s not a sham!

Whats nice is I have an agreement with my friend that we are essentially each others dates for it. So instead of 1/10000 its like 2/10000 I wish you all the luck in the world! (and if you do win TELL ME EVERYTHING, and fingers crossed that Lin tweets that you were LIVING)

With tickets for November I pretty much knew that I most likely wouldn’t get to see him in the role of Hamilton, so even though it sucks I understand that yes, people do have to eventually do different shit and move on from a role, at least for a while. I’m still gonna enjoy the fuck out of this show in November. CAN’T NOBODY STEAL MY SUNSHINE TODAY BY GOD

Wait nm I just got confirmation on the Prince overdose so yeah consider my sunshine gone

Javier Munoz - who will likely take over for Lin since he’s been the understudy - is actually better in the role than Lin, IMO. I adore Lin, but Javier brings more of an edge that I think the character needs. I didn’t feel like I was missing out when I saw his performance.

Now...if Leslie Odom Jr. leaves...IDK what to tell you.

I’ve heard conflicting reports about Javier so I guess it’s all personal preference at this point. However YES if Leslie leaves I’m gonna be gutted considering Burr is my favorite.

Lucifer clasps his sooty hands together, as he sits behind a bright red-orange desk surrounded by flames, wearing a black Snuggie. He tosses his head back, unleashes a piercing cackle and pounds on the desk, knocking his scepter off in the process. “Yes,” he whispers. “Hamilton is crumbling.”

I really don’t think Donald Trump really cares that much about Broadway or about theater in general.

I know that I’m incredibly privileged for even having been able to, but I’m so so so glad that I spent my tax return on a ticket to see it in February so that I’d be sure to see it with the original cast. Not just for Lin Manuel Miranda, but Daveed Diggs, and Leslie Odom Jr., and Philipa Soo, and Rene Elise Goldsberry.

When it tours to my city, I’ll see it with much much better seats, but even in the nosebleeds on Broadway, it was incredible.

I’m going in September and I definitely expected at least a few people would be gone by then. The one I’m clinging to most is Diggs—PLEEEEEASE stick around! He seems the most irreplaceable to me by far, though of course the more I listen to the soundtrack the more I love *everyone.*

I feel like once Lin leaves though everyone else is more likely to as well.

Daveed Diggs is re-fucking-diculous. No human should be able to rap that fast. He might be a robot.

It’s fair I get it, he has other things to move onto now. That said I’m pretty devastated, I was able to get a single ticket over two months ago for a show in November (yeah that’s the first date I could get at regular prices), and while I will still want to see the show I was so hoping I’d get to see him perform in it. Like I’m actually pretty sure I’m going through the stages of grief right now, because I can hardly believe it’s true.

If it helps, my SIL and BIL said that Lin isn’t the best part, it’s the guy who plays Burr. They both agreed the show won’t suffer at all if LMM moves on.

I’ve heard that too, and I don’t doubt it Leslie Odom, Jr. is incredible and fingers crossed he’s still with the show when I see it. Still though, I really want to see it with as much of the original cast as I can. I’ll say I’m not generally a musical theatre person, theatre yes, but musicals meh and I haven’t been this into something since I was 12 and pinning pictures of Leonardo DiCaprio(I know I know) from Teen Beat to my wall, I literally cannot explain it.

Not going to lie- as someone with December tickets, it is definitely a bummer. That being said, I think that Lin-Manuel is smart enough to leave us with someone phenomenal in his place. I am excited to see what new talent he finds and for the amazing opportunity that another minority actor will get.

Javier Munoz (who does the Sunday matinees) will take over. I’ve heard some say they prefer him, so maybe it won’t be so bad. I’m real sad though, as well.

When I went to see The Producers on Broadway, a group of 20 women with tickets in hand abandoned the line when they discovered that Nathan Lane wouldn’t be there for that show.

      Their loss.

I mean, yeah, Nathan Lane is amazing.

Still tho, how could any production of the Producers be a negative?
