Damnit, Massachusetts. Led the country in the American Revolution. Led the country in Marriage Equality, now leading the country on Transfolks’ rights. Are you feeling a little smug tonight?

Well, rightly so. Carry on with your bad New England selves.

The problem is, it’s a work in progress as the people around us and transplants think that they could come up here and try to change our stances and thoughts with hate and rhetoric, I’ve seen it personally with people from NH and the south trying to make our state a shithole.

      I’m unfamiliar.

      “Transplants”? From New Hampshire? What?

That looks the attractive, yet non-threatening, racially diverse cast of a CW show.

I’m overjoyed for our state. But please correct the article; Baker’s earliest quote was “I won’t veto it”. He's a staunch social Republican and no friend of transgender rights. https://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/2016/0...

Yep, he sucks in that way but I think he was just posturing on that front. He had to know he has to sign this bill whether he likes it or not if he wants to ever have a chance at reelection in this state. Saying that let him look good for his republican buddies. Pos.

      “in that way”?

Wait, in what ways does he not suck? For fuck’s sake, he ‘rescued’ Harvard Pilgrim by cutting jobs, outsourcing operations, pushing on clinics and physicians to charge the plan less, and increasing premiums. He ‘fixed’ the Big Dig by leaving the state perpetually a billion dollars underfunded for transportation infrastructure. He only ‘supported’ this once it was clear it was massively supported by the voters, literally moving from ‘I don’t want to comment on pending legislation’ to ‘i won’t veto it’ rather than ever support it or say he favors it.

I get to vote against him again soon, right?

I’m not so sure. That sign-holding protester with the picture of a man peeing on a woman from over a barrier has a point. I am SO TIRED of that happening to me.

ETA: Aaaand now I see that it says peering, not peeing. Just... Just pretend you never saw this.

To the dicks shouting “Shame on you!” You fuckwads said the same shit for every single progressive step the country has taken for over a century. You were wrong every time then, you’re wrong now, and you will probably wrong in the future. Fuck off and let people live their lives.

Thank Jesus my rep voted yes!

Had some unpleasantness with severe racism in my community’s informal fb group so I was scared we'd done something shitty again.

Mine voted no, but then he’s a Tea Party asshole who co-chairs the Trump campaign here. Can’t wait till that fucker is up for reelection.

Years ago, I was pulled into a push poll about this very bill. That was slightly surreal.
