I’m sure if an American citizen set fire to the CIA headquarters in Langley, the authorities would just let him off with a stern warning.

The CIA is out in Langley for a reason, though. Imagine if its headquarters were right on K Street.

The fact that the FSB stayed right in central Moscow is an unambiguous message: “We run things around here."

They’d kill him without any due process.

I’m not sure what the point of this article is.

Does Gawker’s new part-owner have some sort of mandatory quota for Russia stories?

It seems like Maria Galperina is some Russia focused journo - that’s all she ever posts about - kinda like Hamilton Nolan is the Socialism foucused journo.

How much did the CIA pay you to write this artice? My going rate is 100 dollars for any article that works in a mention of Nadya Savchenko’s crazy eyes.

I swear, the best (albeit, somewhat gallows-like) humor comes out of Russia.

Russia, where every politician has a fake PhD and the secret police have an art prize.

        Stay weird, Russia. Stay weird.
