The greatest proof of Republicans’ anti-science bent isn’t that they refuse to accept that evolution exists. It’s that they refuse to accept that recording technology exists.

That is why Donald Trump says things like, “I never said that I raised $6 million,” when, in fact, there is a recording of him saying just that and why this fine exemplar of GOP willful Ludditism said that yes, she posted the joke and now refuses to accept that the recording exists.

Yes, Muslims, liberals, the media, the gays, climatologists, atheists, and vegetarians piss off Republicans. But none cause such fits of apoplexy as the humble videocassette.

Media Matters? Seriously?

Well, here’s the deal. Either they report the hack to the authorities - a formal report - or it’s bullshit. No middle ground, and local media shouldn’t let them off the hook. If nothing else, they might be able to goad these morons into filing a false police report, or perhaps get them to own up in a fit of desperation

  Accessing an account like this is a violation of the Federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act - and they’ve been willing to prosecute in the past. Clearly if there’s some left-wing conspiracy involving criminal conduct, a report should be filed. If nothing else, they're willing to officially say they were hacked if they're willing to claim it in public.

Gee, isn’t hacking into someone’s account and posting defamatory material as though you were them against Federal law? I’m pretty sure it is!

So if the Delta County GOP has accused Media Matters of committing this felony, we can be confident the GOPers can produce some pretty unimpeachable proof thereof. Otherwise Media Matters would have a clear, cut-and-dried libel case against them. Certainly the staff of the Delta County GOP wouldn’t be stupid enough to expose themselves to that.
