And yet the police found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Depp when they showed up. Heard then posted pics DAYS later. Looks suspicious on her part, unless you’re claiming the police left when she had obvious facial contusions: http://myinforms.com/en-ca/a/348282...

I shared this on another post, but when I was testifying on behalf of a friend who was the victim of domestic abuse the defense attorney explicitly asked if I had punched my friend myself to frame her abusive ex. Thankfully the judge shut him down, but gross people gonna gross. Her asshole ex did three months though, which is more than most do.

It is worth note that in the flood of various support from this or that celebrity, that both of Depp’s ex-wives have come to his aid as well. At least as indicated in the Kinja comment sections each male support of him has been met with skepticism, and for good reason, men’s relationships with each other shine little light on the limits of a romantic engagement. However, the court of public opinion is fickle and shrill, and given the immense amount of money likely involved, their media battle will be defined by bias.

I would like to believe that this woman would not fabricate bruises as part of a shakedown, but I would also like to believe he didn’t throw a phone at her face. In either case, we have no access to the truth. And this just demonstrates how little we should invest into these celebrities, who are just like us.

Seriously, who the fuck is taking this junkie’s word for *anything*? He’s friends with Anthony Cumia for Christ’s sake. He’s a misogynist piece of shit. He’s been drinking heavily for so long his brain is fucking pickled. He probably can’t remember today much less the happenings of days ago. This guys is a train wreck’s train wreck. He was had a Twitter meltdown a few months back talking about killing himself after his “girlfriend” left him for another man. He’s as believable as any drunk junkie with a man crush.

So is that a thing people do? Watch abuse and toxicity build up and up over time and not say ANYTHING to their friend who is being ‘affected’ by it?

    Fuck that.

Someone can abuse you and tons of people will come out and support them “they were great people, they would never! It didn’t happen to me! Lies!” It means nothing.

In my life I’ve seen all kinds of abusive relationships. I’ve seen the dorkiest, quietest, nerdiest guys be absolute monsters behind closed doors. I’ve seen the most innocent looking, the prettiest women, the friendliest women be the biggest nightmares too. You can’t judge by what’s on the outside and by what friends say. It’s not necessarily like that 24/7.

It takes a lot of balls to show up to court with a bruised face (which is inspected, btw, to corroborate) and swear under oath that you are being abused. At this point the best thing people can do is see how the courts react if they refuse to believe Johnny beat her; don’t immediately cast doubt on her though. She was granted a restraining order for a reason. Those are not easy to get. She had two witnesses (who I doubt would lie under oath during such a public case; what for?) and multiple photographs as evidence. Everything you read on TMZ and People will be a PR war, and PRs can be paid to make exes look bad. So read wisely.

I’m sick and tired of people giving problematic men too much credit. We’ve seen Johnny fall off the waggon and act like a damn fool in recent years. There is history of violent behavior while drunk and high. Kate Moss knows, Winona Ryder knows. He was sober for most of his relationship with Vanessa, but we know he hasn’t been sober for a while.

You are really not losing anything if you distance yourself emotionally from the situation and face the fact that Hollywood goes through tons of dramatic break ups and divorces, tonssss of money is always involved, but domestic violence is not something that is thrown around often. Your movie star could very well be a monster.

No. TROs are easy to get and they should be - particularly in divorce cases. The judge basically just takes a person’s word. Having a TRO doesn’t mean anything.

You could file and get a TRO against Depp.

Maybe. I don’t know. I’m cynical enough to think that this was cooked up by Depp’s team. I know that men are also victims of abuse but the police were called to the house on previous occasions, and the details would have been reviewed by the judge who gave Heard the temporary restraining order.

      If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.

So Stanhope doesn’t know how blackmail works. It is hard to blackmail someone if you have already revealed the information they wanted to keep quiet.
